FO3 - Charon vs Butch
WIP animatic that might just be too much for me to complete. If I do come back to it, the bones are all there at least. For what it is now, I still think it looks good. Sound is from Venture Brothers... and on the topic Brock Sampson is forever going to be my favorite inspiration for Charon lol

Quick Coop sketch for a client 👍
Thank you Bethesda
don’t mind my ghoul, he’s just a bit feisty
Just thinking about how much I love shipping Lucy & Cooper.
I've loved Fallout for years & had been excited for the show ever since it's announcement back in 2020. Finally, I thought, after hoping & praying that a Fallout show would be made...it was getting made!
When it comes to shipping, I have done it before - mostly in Doctor Who, but I hadn't shipped many characters together in any movie or TV show in quite a while before Fallout came out. In fact I think the last time I shipped a couple in a movie series was Rey & Finn from Star Wars - heh, yeah I know there's a lot of conflict between Finray & Reylo shippers, something I wasn't aware of until after Fallout was released because up until then I hadn't really gotten involved with shipping discourse - but I could also see the appeal of Rey & Kylo.
Anyway, colour me surprised when I was watching Fallout for the first time & observe The Ghoul being all tough guy around Lucy & when he smirks down at her whilst she sucks up that dirty water, it felt to me a little sub/Dom. Of course that's not what it was meant to portray, but in my filthy mind....oh boy! You betcha I went down into Filthtown 😉
"Oh no, I'm shipping a ghoul & a smoothie"...oh, wait, that's not an 'oh no', that's definitely an 'oh yes!' 😏
But, whilst I love the filth & the idea of a beautiful woman being devoured by a devilishly handsome, irradiated cowboy, I also see how fucking BEAUTIFUL the romantic potential of this ship could be.
My fellow shippers have been such a delight, their creative minds have brought so much joy and highlighted all the parallels between Lucy & Cooper, as well as the potential foreshadowing - see the Norm images & his predictions on Lucy's future husband, which is fitting considering his Perception & Intelligence are incredibly high.
Our two travellers will certainly learn a lot about each other in season 2 and no doubt have each other's backs. The tragedy of Cooper's past, plus Lucy's strong empathetic nature will undoubtedly meet and pull them closer. She'll hate him for a little while, I'm sure, but as of the moment she gave those vials to him, his respect for her was instant. She was no longer the enemy, no longer bait, no longer a bargaining chip, she was someone honest, someone doing the right thing. Something I think he probably hasn't seen in a very long time and it plays on the heart of the man he once - after all, 'doing the right thing' was what he loved about Barb. And let's not forget that Cooper is definitely still within the Ghoul; he isn't evil, like some people think he is. He's done bad things, but he isn't cruel or doing things out of malice, he's acting out of a mix of betrayal, trauma, pain, loneliness, a desire to survive and a desire to find his daughter.
Lucy might be pissed at Cooper at the start of their journey, but she knows he's got no reason to lie to her and yes, he has literally been the most honest person with her on the surface. Brutally honest, in fact, but that honesty is what she needs right now after her father's betrayal.
I'd love to see feelings develop between them in season 2, but a slow burn build would be perfect, because growth and healing takes time.
I just want to finish off by saying that in the first episode, it's quickly established that Cooper Howard is doing parties to pay for his alimony, meaning he is a freshly divorced man, then...oh look, the next scene shows us Ms Lucy MacLean looking for a husband, finds one, then quickly becomes a widow.
Well, a Pre-War cannibal divorcee full of tumours & a very curious history & ethics teacher widow - who was raised watching Cooper Howard movies & probably had a crush on him as a teenager - on a road trip....
That's some fine-ass writing there.
