First stripe on the blue belt is in the books 4-11-2019. All I can say is that I'm glad I'm progressing through this BJJ journey with my close friend. She pushes me to be my best and in return I push her to bring out her best. A day late and a lot less sore. ~ Rankings: Gi [4th] / NoGi [2nd] ~ This past Sunday's submission only tournament taught me alot. I don't need to say much more then this. First off let me say thanks to @DixieKM For being ok with me doing all of this. Always be respectful when need be. ~ This belt design was one I had to do after losing a close friend and NG family member. A very positive energy in the BJJ community. He had one goal in this sport and he worked hard to achieve it. That goal was to receive his blue belt. Which he did after many years of hard work. But not long after reaching his goal we all lost him. So this belt design is to honor him. I told him in our conversation that I would carry on his light as best as I could in this sport. So with every practice or competition I'm paying respects to him. Thanks for the back and forth battles we had. Disclaimer: My friends belt is missing a stripe. It fell off during a training session and she never got it replaced. ~ Woke up this morning tired and sore. But with the feeling of accomplishment flowing through me. From 08/02/16 to 11/29/18 i've put in soooooo many hours on the mats. Making it through injuries and all. So the step I made last night becoming a blue belt under Jon Friedland was definitely earned. This coming week it's back to enjoying the journey from a different view. All of the pieces are aligned finally and I plan on making some big moves heading into the new year. I can finally say that I just entered what I'll call the "heavy networking phase".
