And the tie down.
A ruff pass of the last shot I animated on the film.
Some early test animation of Mogens before the design was finalized.
I animated Mogens leaning a lot. I saw him as crooked but in this shot it also plays as him being playful while he ribs Jesper.
This was the very first production shot I animated of Mogens. His design was still being refined and I hadn’t totally locked in to the character yet but this was a start :) Really amazing to see peoples reactions to the film, it is wonderful to finally be apart of a film that seems to be impacting people. Also, I have been blown away by peoples affinity for this guy. My aim was to balance the snark and sarcasm with charm and like-ability.
Been a LOOOOONG time since I have been on Tumblr. But this is why, I was busy supervising this doof for Klaus. Gonna post a bunch of my work from him on here so stay tuned!
First shot I animated on Mary Poppins Returns.
A few more discarded roughs from Mary Poppins Returns.
Some discarded roughs from 1 of my 2 wolf shots in MP Returns. Wish I could have done more on this guy but I had already committed to a start date on Klaus and ran out of time.
A shot I animated from Mary Poppins Returns. I mainly focused on the Orangutan Conductor and a bit on the Wolf.

Man your work is awesome, tell me, In which software you do your clean up? Toon boom? In Tvpaint I can’t get these quality in the clean up :(
Thanks! I typically still animate on paper but when I do animate digitally it is with tvpaint.
Been drawing people I have observed on my travels to Europe. Hard to miss this lady!
Can’t stop doodlin’ doggies.
My dog, Pippin and his all too common, “yes? Can I help you?” Look.
A rough rendition I did many months ago of the Lady of the Lake while reading some of the Arthur myths. A truly horrible character, particularly in the tale between her and Merlin.
Some development animation I did about a year ago to prepare for a sizzle reel I am trying to finish. This is kind of a dream project :)
When I am drawing and studying how (and why!) something is designed the way it is all I can do sometimes is praise God in my heart for being a creator of beauty. Just as an artwork reveals its artist, so creation reveals its creator.
