This is a really good article addressing pricing of handmade goods. If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, it’s a great read! Our prices are what they are for a reason, please remember you’re not getting an assembly line/factory mass-made product; you are getting a 100% original and unique item handcrafted individually with care and love! It’s unfortunate that lately the decoden market has seen an increase in sellers with a lack of business knowledge, who are severely undercutting prices, and a rise in factory-made cases on Ebay for pennies on the dollar; which makes it harder for the rest of us — do we slash our current prices or stick to our personal standards? Prices are not just pulled out of thin air — it includes the cost of materials, time, effort, packaging, postage, and takes into consideration the pricing of the competition. I put in many hours each day hand-making decoden creations. I purchase all materials out of my own pocket, I place each piece, pearl, & rhinestone by hand, I take hundreds of product photos and edit each of them, I do quality control checks, I carefully package and ship orders, and I keep in contact with customers. This is more than just a hobby for me, it is my job. I’ve heard it all, from “$50?! I can make that for $20!” to “These prices are murder.” There will always be people who don’t understand why handmade goods are “so expensive,” and that is okay. Please know I do try to offer the best prices that I can, but there is just so much that goes into handmade products, and that is what is reflected in the price. I’m just thankful I have wonderful customers who DO understand :)

New crafting videos

I've been trying to think of a new crafting video to do on YouTube as I've got a few subscribers recently, so my channel obviously needs more stuff, and as I'm not working atm because of the Easter holiday, I have the time to.

I couldn't think of anything good for ages, that's mainly why I haven't made any recently.

But I was thinking just now of doing something relatively simple...A bit time consuming, but simple.

My best-seller on Etsy right now, and the most favourited are my Alice in Wonderland necklaces, primarily the 'Eat Me' necklace. So I was thinking of showing how I make the biscuit.

This is the first attempt at the new product I am working on.

They're like friendship/charm bracelets, which can be adjusted to your wrist size by pulling the ends.

I will be selling them for £2 on eBay. But I am going on holiday, so will be making them while I'm away.
