Just posted the final chapter of my fic, Run, the follow on from Two Wolves, on Ao3. After writing Rob for just over two years he's become his own character to me, his own person in my head separate to the person who was my original inspiration and I've got to say it's very emotional, I'm going to miss him so much.

Ever since she’d been to that big charity party last month, she had frequently gone to work on some kind of collab she had been refusing to tell him about, apparently because he hadn’t been paying attention the first time she’d tried telling him about it or whatever. He couldn’t even remember when she had supposedly told him, and now she was punishing him by not letting him in on any details, and while he could maybe justify her behavior the first time she’d gone to that gig, it was getting fucking weird now. He expected some snide remark, but she just sighed with another shrug.

“Yeah, I dunno. We decided to rewrite some of the lyrics together, and he’s good for connections, so-”

“He?”

That was the most she’d ever shared about this collab. A small knot twisted in his gut, but he tried to push it away. What had he expected? It was a coin toss it’d be a guy. She’d worked with male artists before, plenty of times in fact, but the way she’d dodged details and used his supposed inattentiveness as an excuse to stay vague about who she was working with, only to now casually mention it was some guy… He really wasn’t the jealous type or anything, but a faint wave of nausea churned in his stomach.

a fandom doesn’t die because the source material ended btw. it only dies if fans stop talking about it. so it will always stay alive even if just one person still talks and is passionate about it.

support artists. comment nice things on their fics, leave kudos on their fics, like and reblog their art, engage with posts about your blorbo if you don’t want your fandom to die.

bbc merlin, house md, nbc hannibal have all ended for more than a decade and their fandoms are still as alive and active as ever. they literally trend here every other month. we can be like them <3

“Do you think your husband could’ve hurt Bo?” he asked. “If Bo was heading to his own place… is there any chance he knew?”

Lily flinched. He was Bo's friend. He had every right to ask, and she didn’t blame him. But it did not make the question less uncomfortable. 

“I don’t see how he could’ve known,” she said. “If he’d have known he was leaving, he would have known where we came from, and he would’ve come straight to the hotel for me.”

Nick bit his lips, then looked at Matt. “So maybe we ought to ask Sophia if he’s with her?” Before Matt could answer, Lily intervened: “She doesn’t know where he’s been for the past two weeks. If you ask her now, it might set off alarm bells. She’ll know something’s wrong.”

“Yeah, well… maybe something is wrong. I’m sorry, but I’m not really in the mood to play it subtle if he’s in trouble.”

Could I explain the actual rules of how they’re used? Absolutely not.

Do I rely on sensing a tremor in the force to tell me where to use them? Yes and this has never failed me even once.

it is honestly amazing how much of writing and editing is just. logistics. like... do i use a name here or a pronoun? if i move this dialogue tag to the middle of this line and break it in half, does the end of the line hit harder that way? what if i move the tag to the front? what if i remove it entirely? ...wait, whose point of view am i in; can i reasonably say this character is appalled, or must i say they look or seem or sound appalled? is this a deliberate action or a step-removed one; is her hand closing on his shoulder, or is she closing her hand on his shoulder? environment environment environment, we need to break all this dialogue up with some narration, the scene is coming untethered. what! are! they doing! with! the rest of their bodies that are not hands! fuck fuck fuck FUCK i forgot we covered this two chapters ago and now i either need to cut this whole chunk or find a reason to reprise the conversation from earlier. name or pronoun? name or pronoun? name or pronoun? move this clause around in this sentence? oh i'll add this phrase-- nope, never mind, past!me added the same phrase two lines down. okay, if i add too much environmental narration it's going to take away from this bit, but not enough and it won't feel grounded. what if i move this to its own line? where the FUCK are their hands?

“We have to go to the police.” she continued. “Forget the plan. We should’ve done it when you suggested it. We need to tell them everything. We’ll get a lawyer too. We can’t keep doing this, It’ll only make everything worse.” He shook his head, his face set hard with defiance. 

“No... No, that’s exactly what he wants. He wants us scared and desperate enough to crawl into a police station to cry and beg. I’m not giving that asshole the satisfaction!” “But-”

“We get you out first!” he said sharply. “Back home. Where it’s safe. Where you have real support. Your brother, your country, that’s when we go to the authorities. We can't do it like this, cornered, and on his terms. I’m not going to play by the rules of a psychopath.” “But Bo... What about you? Your career, your family? Please, don’t ruin your whole life because of me.” His lips parted, and she could see the words building behind them, as he gathered his courage to speak them. He went still, gaze drifting toward the floor, and when he finally looked back at her again, his voice came quiet and pleading.

“Lily, I … I have to go see Sophia. I need to warn her. She’ll need to know what to say if the police show up looking for me.” That was what finally undid her. A tear slipped down her cheek before she could stop it. Bo’s eyes followed it.
