My personal experience
with Sell-sword Arts
It was about 5 years ago.
I was called in to teach a stunt actor
how to use a chain.
I go to the training center
and everyone is clashing steel.
One guy has this toy light-saber
and is making light-saber noises with his mouth
fighting a guy with a long-sword.
I thought "There's no way that's the guy."
and then the brat introduces himself.
He starts the conversation
by telling me, a master of my craft,
how much better he is at my job.
If he did that in my gym,
I would have ground his face in the dirt.
He then grabs a long-sword by the blade
and starts wielding it like a spear.
So I say that I can beat him unarmed
with him using that sword.
The idiot agrees to it
and I tell him he better put a stopper
on the tip of the blade.
He refuses so I say "It' your funeral."
and we start.
Instantly I use my bare hands
to grab the blunt part of the sword,
pushing it back against him.
That's a move anybody could do.
Idiot stabs himself in the leg.
So now he's embarrassed
and has something to prove.
This while he's still bleeding on the floor
mind you.
He tells me to do the thing he saw me do in a video,
in real life, without photo effects.
I'm offended that he thought I edit my videos.
I pick up the chain to show him.
He tells me that what I did
is physically impossible in real life.
He uses the Ghost Rider movie
as a reference of how chains work.
The chain in that movie is CGI.
I tell him this and he says
that they had a martial artist try to do what I did
and it was impossible.
That's funny to me because I already know
that the only fighter they consulted for the movie
was a boxer,
so what the hell does a boxer know about using a chain?
He asks me to show him how it's done.
Another person tries it
and they are able to do it.
His friend tries to tutor him
and he cusses them out.
More people turn up
all trying to help him.
He's now doing the opposite of what they said
and then saying "see, it doesn't work."
I stand behind him,
I grab his arms,
I make him perform the move
like controlling a puppet.
He says "oh that's easy."
He tries again and fails
because he didn't do what I showed him.
He kicks me out of his gym.
I see that he still hasn't uploaded
any footage of this encounter.
