I sometimes think that people’s hearts are like deep wells. Nobody knows what’s at the bottom. All you can do is imagine by what comes floating to the surface every once in a while.
Haruki Murakami : Blind willow, sleeping woman
Opinion is really the lowest form of human knowledge. It requires no accountability, no understanding. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another’s world. It requires profound purpose larger than the self kind of understanding.

Title: "Fading Skies"
Haneul sat alone on the rooftop of his high school, gazing at the distant horizon, feeling a heavy burden of insecurity weighing down on his shoulders. He was a quiet and reserved student, always struggling with low self-esteem, unsure of his place in the world. His peers seemed to excel in various talents, while he felt like he was just another face in the crowd, fading into the background.
One day, a new student arrived at school. Her name was Naoko, and she was an exchange student from Japan. Haneul was immediately captivated by her presence. She was confident, outgoing, and effortlessly talented in many areas. Naoko was a breath of fresh air in Haneul's monotonous life, and he found himself drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
Despite his insecurities, Haneul managed to muster up the courage to approach Naoko. Surprisingly, she welcomed him with open arms, and they quickly formed a close bond. Naoko's vibrant personality and unwavering support brought out the best in Haneul. With her by his side, he discovered hidden talents and passions he never knew he had. He joined the school's art club and discovered a knack for painting, a form of expression that allowed him to release his innermost emotions.
As Haneul's confidence grew, so did his feelings for Naoko. He found himself falling deeply in love with her, but he kept his feelings hidden, afraid of losing their friendship. However, he couldn't help but notice that Naoko seemed distant at times, and her smiles didn't reach her eyes. He brushed off his concerns, convincing himself that it was just his imagination playing tricks on him.
One day, Haneul overheard a conversation between Naoko and another student. He realized that Naoko was struggling with her own insecurities, feeling homesick and out of place in a foreign country. She was putting on a brave face for everyone else, including Haneul, but inside, she was crumbling.
Determined to help Naoko, Haneul confronted her, pouring out his feelings and concerns. Naoko was taken aback, but she couldn't deny her own feelings for Haneul. She confessed that she had fallen in love with him too, but she was afraid of getting hurt and losing him as a friend.
As they bared their hearts to each other, Haneul and Naoko found solace in each other's embrace. They decided to take a leap of faith and pursue their love, despite the uncertainties ahead. For a while, their world was filled with happiness and bliss.
However, their newfound love faced challenges. Naoko's exchange program was coming to an end, and she had to return to Japan. Haneul was devastated, but he knew he couldn't hold her back. They bid a tearful farewell, promising to keep in touch and cherish the memories they had created.
Back in Korea, Haneul tried to move on, but his heart ached with emptiness. He threw himself into his artwork, pouring his emotions onto the canvas. His paintings became a reflection of his inner turmoil, a testament to the bittersweet love he had experienced.
Years passed, and Haneul's talent as an artist flourished. He gained recognition for his unique style and powerful storytelling through his artwork. However, deep down, he still longed for Naoko, the one who had changed his life forever.
One day, he received a letter from Japan. It was from Naoko, expressing her longing for him and her regrets for not being able to stay by his side. She revealed that she had always cherished their time together and had never forgotten him.
