Colouring in my Harry Potter colouring book has been a happy Summer holiday activity but clearly my lap-cat Possum (aka Princess Pushy) has had enough of sharing my lap of an evening.

In 1971 I made a macrame wall hanging as my "major work" for the Higher School Certificate Fine Art subject I studied. It was 6 month's work (every Sunday afternoon and most nights). It was selected for the 1971 Travelling HSC Art exhibition and still hangs on my office wall today. I just realised it is 45 years old!.

What a difference 10 years can make. When we came here 10 years ago the place was a desert with road base gravel covering 90% of the block. It is very different now and will be even more beautiful come the Spring of 2014.

Just saw this image of the cat and mouse on Pinterest shown as an original Chinese print by  Mi Chun Mao 米春茂. 

I bought mine in an art market in Kuala Lumpur in 2009. I did not realise it was a copy.
