I need there to be ANGRY de-plurbed humans. I need there to be characters who come out of the hivemind state breathing fire and sweating venom. People who feel like their souls are piles of shattered glass and retch every time they think of their time in the hive. I want Ravi to give his mom the silent treatment. I want Zosia to struggle not to blame Carol for parts of what she went through, even if she knows that's unfair. I want to see families ripped apart and marriages fractured.

I want the survivors to be so, so, so, SO angry and I want them to be RIGHT to be angry and I want to see each individual character's rage explored as a key facet of who they are.

Anger is the emotion that lets you set boundaries. The hivemind took that from them! Dissolved all boundaries, any and all meaning of consent, any privacy whatsoever! I want to see characters reclaim those things with fire and blood and I want that to be BEAUTIFUL the way Carol's grief for Helen is beautiful and the way Manousos's resistance is beautiful.
