Con jugo de papaya
Just learned what a wedge salad is. Gtfo my face tf is this. This better not be more than $2. Who is actually ordering a half prepped salad as a meal and paying full price. Bye.
My wallet lost again and bought food at a restaurant instead of making it myself sigh #supportlocal
Fire
Attempted to cook breakfast this morning b4 clocking in: almost-egg white omlette thing + chickpea tempeh crumble shit w brinjal eggplant pickle relish.
Tried it again thus morning and while the prep and presentation was much better, i still added too much teryaki marinade and neglected to think of the salt content of each ingredient lol so it was a little salty. Still p yummy. My mom tried the tempeh part and agreed it was a bit salty on its own but good flavor, and also tried it w the egg which she said made it much better.
Next time imma chop the tempeh up more to make a sort of grits or conrmeal consistency. I think that will perfect it (alongside using less salty ingredients lol. Just use msg next time).

I didnt know the difference and now i do!
First time trying chickpea tempeh. Loosely followed recipe prep instructions for basic prep. Used teryaki seasonings and marinade after steaming, then tried to pan fry them lol.
Will def have to be more prepared nxt time. Used a bit too much marinade so it was a lil salty and prolly coulda made the texture less firm somehow but it has promosing flavor and texture profile. It has a nutty taste that i like and would prolly work rlly well as crumbles in a taco.
I have like 6 more of these to eat soon lol so ill learn soon.
Omg i have to do this poll again, I set it to one freakin DAY instead of one WEEK .....

Weekend foodies from festivals and family
I almost screamed when I saw this at the Asian market I LOVE STAINLESS STEEL AND COMPARTMENTALIZED FOOD DISHES
This salty, savory sauce has a story.
My grandmas house is full of relics from the past like curio cabnets full of ceramic knick knacks and solid brass decor and wood veneer walls and pink furniture and fake plant boquets and floral wall paper, etc. Its been modernized a bit w/in the last 10 yrs (not the yellow bathtub tho) but still mostly how i remember growing up, which was super "dated" (read: awesome).
These relics are interesting tho: food preserved in jars as decor:
(Not the jar of peppers w a brand name on it lol that one isnt decor)
Idk their proper name but i kno they were A Thing in the 20th century. My grandma has quite a lot (or used to, i remember there being more than this on top of her fridge).
They seem to have tomatoes, olives, garlic, peppers, lemon and herbs in them in an pattern for aesthetic and were prolly once filled w vinegar and sealed airtight w some sort of cap of plastic or whatever material. Theyve never rotted or looked gross iirc and have looked the same for as long as i can remember (likely earlier, tho idk precisely when my grandma got this set tho).
Im 99% sure these were purchased. In my family, these pieces werent rlly talked abt or explained nor did discussion abt eating the contents inside ever happen iirc, so who knows if they were ever rlly meant to be opened to eat. But the fact they were never a discussion and, to my knowledge, never been opened, tells me they arent supposed to be eaten, just displayed.
So yea the food in the jar isnt for consumption and is meant for display only (at least thats how my grandma uses them lol)...
Ive seen them at thrift stores so that tells me theye old and iirc i think my mom had sumn like this at one point. But i wonder how common these rlly were.
Did ur family use jars of real preserved food as home decor?
yea and we planned to/did eat the contents inside
yea and we didnt intend to/never ate the contents inside
no but i know of this concept (fotos, tv, encyclopeida, etc)
no and wth is this lol
nuance (????)
