Alpha Legion Raiders
Finally finished painting up a squad of Alpha Legion raiders after the test miniature a couple of months ago!
Really happy with how the deep blue/indigo has turned out with the magenta eyes and lime green decals!
Word Bearers Solar Auxilia
With the new ZM rules I've decided to paint up some Solar Auxilia for my Word Bearers, and an Overseer Consul to babysit them on the tabletop!
I was gifted a set of the John Blanche ArmyPainter range, so I've been trying out a different, more glossy maroon red recipe for these. Hopefully they've turned out ok!
Working on an Alpha Legion test scheme. I've been building up from purple shadows up to a bluer indigo with many many thin glazes. This was also a chance to practice with some neon pink glow for the eyes!
Hopefully he's turned out ok!
Kroot Farstalkers
I've finally gotten round to painting up the combat patrol in the leadup to 11th. I've not painted Kroot since the 2006 codex so this was a fun excuse to get back to them!
I also got some new lights with hue and warmth settings so I've sent them to the blue and orange dimension to test that out
Working on mixing parts from the old metal Chaos Sorcerer with the new Masters of the Maelstrom to kitbash together a Dawn of War Sindri style sorcerer
WIP of chaos-ing up a Saturnine terminator for my Word Bearers, I'll probably run it as one of the new Phraetus Anointed!
Mohg, Lord of Blood
Final miniature of 2025! I've finally finished Mohg after months and months of procrastinating!
Several months later I've finally cleaned up and primed Mohg ready for painting! There's a LOT of details on the sculpt so I'm keeping the head and trident separate until I've painted those!
I'm planning on using some fluorescent paints on the base to try and get the fiery blood effect, so that'll be a fun OSL practice!
Mohg Progress! It's been a while of procrastinating and trying to puzzle through just how to actually paint his robes!
I've started blocking in the base colours and added some glossy blood effect to the base.
Looking through reference pictures and taking some screenshots in Leyndell with the robe, I was surprised just how many blues and purples there are on his outfit! So with that in mind I've been building up blue highlights on the main robe itself, and the embroidery on the hem
If everything all goes to plan I should have him all finished up for the end of the year!
White Scars Moritat and Assault Squad
After several weeks of being chronically indecisive I finally decided to paint up the new Mk2 Assault Squad for Horus Heresy as White Scars, and I've kitbashed a Moritat to hang out with them!
This was my first time using weathering powders, which was a fun experiment!

Poxwalkers
Finished off a first batch of Poxwalkers (and their winning smiles) for a Shamblerot detachment. I've set myself the challenge of not repeating poses or colours, so each poxwalker is individual
It's a fun practice for making some especially unhealthy looking skin tones and corroded metal!
Nemesis Claw
Finished off a Nemesis Claw squad over the weekend, pretty pleased with how the glowy eyes and the green venom turned out!
I also finally found the exposure settings on my camera so hopefully the lighting is less blown out now!
Vivi
As a change of pace from my usual miniatures, I've painted up a little Vivi from FF9
Thinking about changing my paint scheme for my DarkMech, where it feels like the black and purple blur together outside of the lightbox lighting on a black background. I'm still thinking of keeping the core purple/black/white/yellow, but maybe just moving the different elements around a bit!
Does anyone have any advice on how to get the scheme to pop a bit more? Thinking of maybe swapping the black trim for silver/gold and instead having individual panels done in black instead
For an example, the Forgefiend here feels like the trim doesn't really show up too well
Compared to the Venomcrawler here where the black trim is more obvious, but under natural light it ends up looking much more faded and desaturated
My little Mohg arrived in the mail today, so now I get to put some paint on him
Void Jakhals
I've kitbashed together a gaggle of Jakhals for my World Eaters, where I've themed them as crew and armsmen from the Conqueror.
They're mostly made from the Imperial Navy Breachers kit, with chainaxes from the Jakhals, but there's a few Orlock and Flagellant arms thrown in to make them look a bit scruffy. The Dishonored is a Corpse-Grinder Cult gang member, with an air tank glued to the back of his suit
Exalted Eightbound
Finished painting up some Exalted Eightbound over the last couple of weeks, in the old blue/white paint scheme, complete with their power armour crop tops
