The Kickstarter for Our Life: Now & Forever will go live in fall of 2023!

Whether it’ll end up being in September, October, or November I’m not entirely sure yet. But it could be happening in as little as three months, so I’ve gotta start promoting this already, haha.

Alright, people, I have a massive emergency: (urgent IRL bullshit below)

As you might know, I am unemployed and on governmental aid. And for the past 6 (six) months they have been fucking unable to process any of the documents I handed in, INCLUDING now the documents needed so that I'll actually continue receiving money starting next month.

Which means that for the month of June, and possibly July giving their current track record, I won't have ANY money besides the 20 or so bucks I currently have on my bank account.

Over here it would usually be around 500 bucks per month (which includes money for food, insurances outside of health insurance, heating and electricity, telephone and internet, etc.

I did contact my electricity and heating supplier and asked them to delay the payment, and they agreed, but they others will not.

So I need help, urgently, cause I don't know how generous the other companies might be, including my bank, as I AM running the risk of a massive overdraw, which might get the whole account frozen.

Help.

I cannot believe it took this long, and I can believe it even less that so many people have continued to follow us over such a lengthy development. Support for our team and the game has never wavered no matter how much time has gone by. That’s something I’ll always appreciate regardless of what happens in the future.

This MC is for the "The Ballad of Devil's Creek" IF (The Ballad Of Devil's Creek on Tumblr,) their name is Rhiannon Mulligan as they took Charlie's last name as their own after two years of travelling with him after their meeting. There are parts of Rhiannon's past that is buried within their subconscious however there are permanent scars from what they have dealt with before gaining their own freedom.

The demon residing within Rhiannon's being call herself "Zira" as she stays asleep because in Zira's terms, there is no need for her to be awake as it seems like Rhiannon has their ability to live under control. If you would ask Zira about their existence within Rhiannon, she would say that it is one that she prefers compares to the ones that she has witnessed over her long years of existence. Zira does appear due to unique circumstances that would endanger their charge however they are limited in what they can do, thanks to the branding seal on Rhiannon's back.

If you ask Rhiannon about their family before meeting Charlie, you will be met with extreme resistance.

Mother - deceased, killed by slave owners when they were brought back to plantation where they ran from when Rhiannon was extremely young.

Father- deceased, well to her knowledge, he is deceased, illness took him.

Siblings - possibly through her father however it's something that Rhiannon isn't interested in knowing. She has knowledge of two older siblings that were sold to different plantations before her birth. Charlie is her older sibling and only family to them.

One difference between this strike and the last one is that there are a lot more fellowships targeted at early career tv writers than there used to be (there have always been some, but the fellowship model is way more commonplace these days)

Studios are about to make a ton more of these opportunities and advertise them widely as a way to break into the industry, and they will be very specific about the fellowship not technically counting as a writers room or a tv job

THIS IS A TRICK TO GET YOU TO SCAB

Sharing any written content with a studio (even if they route it through a 3rd party "foundation" or development org or something) IS SCABBING

What you do in regards to the strike is your business, but the WGA has been very clear that anyone who scabs will be BANNED FROM JOINING THE UNION FOR LIFE. That means even if you get hired, that's no health & pension and no union protections for your entire career. This shit is serious

So please please double check and dig into any new submission opportunities you see in the next weeks. Playwrights especially be careful - many studios are finding their writers through play scripts these days so be very careful about how and where your work is being shared

No writing going to the studios means NO WRITING of any kind

a quick word about the writers guild strike, for those of you who currently AREN'T guild members but would like to be one day: the WGA has always strongly enforced its right to ban from future membership any non-member who crosses the picket line and engages in scab writing, aka writing for any of the struck companies during the WGA strike.

so if you're seeing job openings for screenwriters at places like netflix, amazon, paramount, etc and you're thinking "hey, maybe i'll apply and get my foot in the door," just know that you WILL be scabbing and you WILL be barred from ever obtaining WGA membership. permanently.

May Writing Challenge

This May I want to get back into writing. I’m not at all consistent. I’m at a point where I don’t feel like I can work on bigger things, because I can’t guarantee myself to keep working on it in a week from now. So I will take this month as a training month to get back into the habit of writing. I will do this by writing (or trying to write) 200 words every day. Topic is irrelevant. How great my writing is that day is irrelevant. Just 200 words written down. A habit taking 21 days to form was debunked, it does take a lot longer, but 31 days are a start I would say. These are already 140 words, so 200 words every day are hopefully manageable. You're more than welcome to join me if you like 😊
