No offense but Markarth is literally the worst city in all of Skyrim. I show up, a person immediately gets killed, followed by the killer getting killed by the town guards. I undercover a secret agreement between the natives and the family who basically own the city where the natives take credit for killing problem people. Then I get dubbed as a problem person, framed for murders I didn’t commit (even though I did in fact murder some people), and thrown in a labor prison. I then either have to break out of prison with said natives and be responsible for them killing nearly every town guard, or kill their leader myself.

There’s also a cannibal cult that like half the town is apart of, a vaguely alluded to brothel (the only one in skyrim), a house literally possessed by the daedric prince of domination and enslavement, an entire dwemer ruin filled with falmer just below the city.

And the beds are literally made of stone.

Another Odd Friendship that’s pretty sweet — and only sort of alluded to, not really explored — is the one between Dorian and Cullen. A Tevinter Magister and an Ex-Knight Captain, and you can stumble across them having a friendly game of chess. It’s also notable because it’s pretty much the most relaxed you’ll ever see Cullen, even if you’re romancing him. Dorian himself seems rather fond of him, and if the Inquisitor romances Cullen, Dorian thinks their relationship is “adorable”. — TV Tropes
