Batman Forever (1995)
Director of Photography: Stephen Goldblatt
It’s the end of The Boys, show finale. Homelander is killed. Life goes on. Camera pans out as the credits roll, it’s on a TV. It was all an episode of What If? On Vought+ of The Seven being evil. The Seven are staring at the screen in disgust disappointment and disbelief. Adam Bourke goes “what do you think??” And they all leave the room talking about how shit it was, but they all say at least it was fun to work with Karl Urban
I think an interesting characterization of batman in regards to how annoyed he is when pulled out of gotham for justice league business is that he feels redundant, particularly n battle. he understands his worth as a strategist and someone who knows how to keep an organization running but in his mind that all could be an email and in battle there’s nothing he could do that some other hero couldn’t and, frankly, probably better. He is aware that in a super fight he is Just A Guy. while as in gotham there’s five seperate murder investigations happening right now that he IS irreplaceable in solving. this way it isn’t about superiority or surliness it’s about what he thinks is effective use of resources
i find it funny to think about the Joker after Jason came back to Gotham. because like. this guy just was not fucking in the know. he legitimately had no idea that Jason Todd was alive again. can you imagine that from his perspective? Joker killed a guy and then chilled for years, completely ignorant, until one day somebody showed up wearing his old Halloween costume from when he used to fuck around like a decade ago, and Joker's like ??? yo what the fuck? and the guy has the audacity to not even give him the TIME of DAY. just fucking ties him up and ignores him without a single comment. it's not until like days later when Batman shows up and the two are having a whole-ass emotional conversation that they both ignore him for the whole duration of and Red Hood takes off his helmet that Joker's just like.
ay yo wait. hold on. hold on wait. wait he looks familiar-
like that must have been the most confusing week of the Joker's life and quite honestly? way funnier of Jason to do than just killing him instantly. congratulations to Jason Todd for being funnier than the Joker specifically just for ignoring him for a while.
A supportive friend <3

Ed brings this up a lot much to miss Tuesday’s chagrin.
“You used to want to be so much like me! 🥺”
His home got blown up while he was sleeping :/
Bystander seeing him in Superman skivys: hang on a second... why does this feel familiar.
Lois: [whispering] put the beam down, hon. People are staring in that "is he superman" way.
