The bracket is open! Vampires or Mermen: Who moves on? 🧛♂️🧜♂️
The Fae that trapped you in a Groundhog Day-style time loop is extremely frustrated that you’re taking advantage of the situation to just sleep all day, every day.
"Alright, we need to talk."
Albert opened his eyes to a horrifying visage looming over his bed. The creature was horned and feathered, walking on two feet like a human, but with goat-like appendages. Its stance however, reminded Albert of when his mother would wake him up for school in the morning.
"What?" Albert rubbed his eyes, sitting up in bed. "I just finished a project for my publisher and I'm trying to get a nap in here."
The creature sneered and crossed its arms.
"A nap? You've been asleep for three days!"
Albert furrowed his brow and looked over at the clock. "What are you talking about? It's only 2 PM, I checked in last night."
"Right, but its been today for three full cycles." The creature huffed. "Honestly, you're taking all the fun out of this for me. Typically humans freak out when they realize they're stuck in a time loop, but you've been unconscious for most of it and it's boring me."
"Oh." Albert rubbed his eyes. "That would explain why I feel so rested."
The creature scoffed, clearly irritated at his reaction to the news.
"How many more cycles will I be here? Maybe I can use this time to write my next installment."
"No." The creature snapped. "This isn't meant to be a writers retreat, this is meant to be psychological torture. Fuck you."
Albert slid back down under the covers. "Well, at least give me another day or so to lay in bed and rest. If I have to write in real time, I want to use this time to finish recuperating."
"Absolutely not." The creature shook its horned head, neck feathers rustling. "You're checking out today. This is the only room I can trap people in and you're ruining my fun."
Albert sighed, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed. "Fine. But next time I need an extension of my deadline, I'm coming right here."

Instead of the curse you intended to lift, you have accidentally broken a curse so ancient that it was assumed to be a fundamental law of the universe.
"Ah, shit!" Ember gripped the pillar, desperately trying to wrap her legs around it as she continued slipping upwards. "What the fuck did you do?"
"What do you mean?!" Balor locked his feet underneath the stone parapet to prevent himself from following Ember up towards the ceiling. "I read the incantation, didn't I? It was supposed to break the curse!"
"Well, you broke a curse." Balor whipped his head toward the sound of the booming voice, only to find a man floating in the center of the chamber with an unsettling smile on his face.
"What?" Balor cursed as one of his feet slipped, forcing him to grip the side of the bookshelf.
"I sold you that scroll in disguise, most people would have recognized the seal to be of far more powerful magic than your pitiful, little curse. But it seems I was lucky, I got the one wizard who doesn't know how to read runes."
"Are you serious?" Ember screeched, back touching the ceiling. "You don't know how to read runes? Balor, you absolute fucking-"
"I didn't think it mattered!" Balor snapped back.
"Well it clearly fucking did, didn't it?"
The man laughed, deep in his chest, the rumbling physically shaking the building and only now did Balor think to look out the window, paling at what he saw.
"Gravity?!" Balor whipped his head back around to the man. "You're telling me that Earth's gravity was a curse?"
"Well, not anymore." The man grinned even wider and floated towards the exit, disappearing with the blink of an eye.
"Ember..."
"Don't." Ember held her finger up, stopping Balor's thoughts in their tracks. "You fucking broke gravity. Baylor, you could have just learned to live with blue skin, you absolute jackass."
Me when people try to tell me that reading smut doesn't count.
You pretend to be a small-time villain. At most, you annoy the local supers, but your crimes never hurt anyone. To you it's all good fun. Things change when a truly sadistic supervillain invades your turf and murders a few of the supers. No one has seen the extent of your true powers until now.
"You have fallen into my trap!" I grinned, crossing my arms over my chest as Indigoman struggled through the glue. "Now you'll have to -"
"Fuck! It's burning through my suit!"
"Yes, it's- wait... burning?" I furrowed my brows and watched in horror as Indigoman's suit began to sizzle at every point it was touching the glue trap. "It shouldn't be burning, it's just fucking glue."
"I thought I'd show you how it's done." Another voice rang through the empty warehouse, grating against my eardrums.
Turning around I came face to face with the jackass who'd been creeping in on my turf. Now, I always supported hooligans causing chaos, but this fucker had started killing heroes about a week back and it was frankly starting to piss me off.
"Now you will watch helplessly as-"
" You know what? No." I clicked my tongue on my teeth and turned back to the glue trap. With a wave of my hand, all traces of the glue vanished into thin air, leaving Indigoman with slightly less suit but otherwise unharmed.
"How-" The idiot began to stutter, but before he could spit out whatever bullshit he was concocting, I turned back around, arm out.
My face set in a scowl as a glock materialized in my open hand, and I shot him directly in the head. Dropping him.
With a sigh, the gun disappeared as the man's body hit the concrete floor.
I brought my fingers to my temple, feeling a splitting headache beginning to form.
"Sorry Indigo, this dick ruined our fun and I'm really not in the mood anymore. Same time next week?"
I stepped over the body and walked away only barely hearing Indigoman murmur in disbelief.
"What...the fuck?"
You are the Stab Wizard—you create magic by stabbing. Fire? Stab the air so hard it ignites. Teleportation? Stab a hole in reality and tear it open. Explosion? Stab an atom to split it apart. The other wizards are unsure what to make of this.
"I'm sorry, you're a what?"
Jefferson sighed deeply, draining the rest of his whiskey before returning it heavily to the counter.
"A Stab Wizard."
"No, we heard you the first time. What I meant was - what the fuck is a Stab Wizard?"
Jefferson stared up at the wall of liquor, seriously considering ordering another drink as he rubbed his temples.
"You know- you've got your standard Evocation Wizards, Conjuration Wizards, shit like that- I do magic too but I do it..."
"Through stabbing?" One patron finished.
"With what?" Another voice chimed in from the other side of the bar.
Jefferson rubbed his face with both palms, mumbling the response dejectedly.
"Sorry, we didn't quite hear that."
"My dick!" Jefferson shouted, standing up from the barstool and throwing his hands in the air. "Alright? I have to stab things with my dick to get my magic to work! And yes, that does mean that I can only do magic on things that my erect cock can easily penetrate or that already have holes in them!
So, no, I will not use my magic to cool your drink, ask somebody-fucking-else."

You are an advanced robot maid bought by a royal family. You meet an old robot butler who is a bit clumsy and messed up. One day, the butler tells you a secret about the family while cracking a joke.
A2H133 stood in the corner of the dining room, watching the family enjoy their dinner; candlelight dancing off the silverware. She almost did not sense Hester's presence as he hobbled across the threshold from the kitchen - almost.
"Did I ever tell you the one about the broken grandfather clock?" Hester's voice was low, riddled with clicks and scrapes as the old pieces of his voice box struggled to keep up with his words.
"No."
"It's strange. I swore that I had, perhaps before..."
A2H133 tried to ignore the old butler but the clicks and whirs of his gears would not allow her to ignore his presence.
"You know, Ashley..."
A2H133 froze. "What did you just call me?"
Hester paused; had he been capable, she was sure that he would have sighed deeply. It everything she had in her to ignore the growing feeling of unease festering in the pit of her stomach.
"Ah, a slip up. A mistake." Hester hobbled around until he was between her back and the wall. "Where was that reset button..."
A2H133's eyes focused on the family portrait across the room - Mrs. Danfield, Mr. Danfield, Eddie, and...
Ashley?
Opening her mouth to call out to her mother, Ashley stared down at her metal hands in horror and then everything went dark.
I will be opening the gauntlet soon! All my monster lovers make sure to follow my account to have a say in what the next major installment of my queer, monster romance series will be!

I’m a writer, poet, and editor. I share writing resources that I’ve collected over the years and found helpful for my own writing. If you like my blog, follow me for more resources! ♡
So, let me guess– you just started a new book, right? And you’re stumped. You have no idea how much an AK47 goes for nowadays. I get ya, cousin. Tough world we live in. A writer’s gotta know, but them NSA hounds are after ya 24/7. I know, cousin, I know. If there was only a way to find out all of this rather edgy information without getting yourself in trouble…
You’re in luck, cousin. I have just the thing for ya.
It’s called Havocscope. It’s got information and prices for all sorts of edgy information. Ever wondered how much cocaine costs by the gram, or how much a kidney sells for, or (worst of all) how much it costs to hire an assassin?
I got your back, cousin. Just head over to Havocscope.
((PS: In case you’re wondering, Havocscope is a database full of information regarding the criminal underworld. The information you will find there has been taken from newspapers and police reports. It’s perfectly legal, no need to worry about the NSA hounds, cousin ;p))

Assassins
“Below are selected prices that are paid to professional assassins by criminal organizations and drug cartels for a contract hit.
In Australia, the median price to hire a hit man is $13,610 (9,800 Euros), with the price going up to $83,000 (60,000 Euros) based on the task.
In Mexico, the cost for a low level assassin is $208 (150 Euros), and up to $20,832 (15,000 Euros) for a higher profile target like a police chief.
The prices paid in Argentina are between $3,749 (2,700 Euros) to $5,555 (4,000 Euros) per hit.
Government statistics in Spain state that 40 assassinations take place each year, with prices for the hit ranging between $27 (20 Euros) to $69,000 (50,000 Euros).”
So cheap! I always thought things like this would cost more than $1 million…
This is super useful to know!
and not just for writing!!
