charles_leclerc A weekend to forget. But home is home, and the support I get every year here in Monaco is very very special and means a lot to me. Thank you so much
even though iām furious about this whole brake situation, i think itās important to highlight how much this news reframes the results of the last races. for all of his lack of confidence and feeling with the car, charles has been impressive. can you imagine driving around tracks at 350 km/h with inconsistent brakes that keep turning on and off and still managing to keep up with your teammate who has different brakes that actually do their job? can you imagine having to drive an undriveable car not knowing what to expect from one lap to another because of said inconsistent brakes? can you imagine having to face all of this and still having to manage your teamās bad pit stops (sorry it has to be said but the last few races havenāt been great there) and awful strategies (how many double stacks will they make him go through)? can you imagine dealing with all of that and still being in contention for pole and a podium in monaco until the brakes decide to give up altogether?
what if we all blew up and died
eightsleep šļøEp. 4 The Night Before with @/charles_leclerc "I always look at the data. You can learn a lot about your body just by looking at it after a night's sleep." Charles Leclerc checks his sleep data every morning. Not to obsess over it, but to understand it. Breathing techniques. Same bedtime. Same meal time. Because everything starts the night before.
oh, the girls are fIGHTING
almost forgot but happy one year to this random ass clip i got off sky ger that i thought was funny (even tho they already mentioned in the interview with toto were they showed it that they werenāt seriously fighting) that someone then took (without asking or credit ā which iām still pissed about), posted on twitter & got a few millions views which led to actual motorsports press picking it up & eventually james vowles himself making a statment video saying that they werenāt fighting (sorry james for doing that to you)
and yes i know it was my video bc i can filmed it off my ipad with my phone and you can see the corners of it & some greasy finger tips on the screen
what driving for ferrari does to a man
int: charles, thereās a lot of disappointment. you blamed the brakes on the radio but now weāre seeing some problems with the tarmac. what caused the crash?
i had seen the issue with tarmac a few laps before the crash: i went over it on the outside and i realized there was no grip but that wasnāt the issue. the data confirmed what the issue is. iām not the type of person to find excuses, iām the first person not the be ashamed when i screw up and push too much but i donāt have any words. i donāt really want to talk because iām afraid of being too harsh. itās been a problem the last two races. again, we have a solution, lewis went in that direction three or four races ago. i donā donāe. today i set four or five brake bars - iām not sure anyone will understand but it means i was barely touching the brakes. i couldnāt go any lower than that and the rear brakes simply didnāt work at all, only the front brakes did. itās been like this for two races now and unfortunately when the tires are cold you need to be even more precise. itās not that i donāt have any control itās that itās impossible to control anything. the brakes are on and off, on and off again. it's been a problem the last two races. again, we have a solution, lewis went in that direction three or four races ago. i don't think it made much of a difference on other tracks but it simply was undriveable for me today.
int: this must have all fueled your frustration, we also heard you on the radio regret the pitstop. what did you want to do, would you have preferred to keep your set of tires?
charles: yes, the tires were fine because i hadnāt pushed, they were good. i had hoped to keep that set and mostly i didnāt want to be penalized by waiting behind lewis because you canāt slow down in the pitlane as per what the FIA said before the race. i was too close behind lewis so i kind of had to slow down a bit anyway, i was scared to get a penalty. i donāt think it was the case in the end so thatās positive but to be completely honest thatās a small detail compared to the hell i went through in montreal and here. it will change in barcelona and i hope i will find the right feeling with the car but honestly today iām extremely frustrated, extremely angry and extremely sad overall because itās home. but today this anger is not directed at myself. itās hard.
our most precious beautiful boy
actually so incredibly glad heās saying this to the cameras like so glad heās not shouldering the shit show that went down alone
charles fanart i did after sobbing to let down by radiohead
i'm extremely disappointed... sad... angry, a mix of negative emotions. i don't think.... it's just not acceptable
