"It's not that I don't believe you but..." You trailed off, rubbing your face tiredly. "You think we don't know who our best friend has a crush on." Mal raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. You flushed, a bit embarrassed. They didn't have a reason to lie, you supposed.
According to her and Evie, Carlos had the biggest crush on you and they were more than delighted to see that you felt the same. "You should tell him." Evie spoke softly to you, rubbing your arm comfortingly. "Yeah. And then we can count you as his Christmas present." Mal snickered.
Your heart felt like it was going to blow up and the butterflies in your stomach were rioting but nonetheless, you were all smiles and red, warm cheeks. âI want it to be special.â You declared. This was the first Christmas the VKs had spent in Auradon and they had all be amazed and wonderstruck by the festivities in some way or another.
You had heard only bits and snippets of their childhood on the Isle and from what you understood, Carlos had it the very worst. This broke your heart and you wanted to make him feel as loved and wanted to make up for all the years missed out on.
âJust call him on Christmas and tell him to meet you. And to get the point across, wear a bow. Just a bow.â Mal cackled as Evie smacked her shoulder. âStop! He would faint.â Evie giggled.
As Mal and Evie continued with their shenanigans, you racked your brain for ideas when it hit you. Next week was the yearly Christmas fundraiser put on by Auradon Prep. Any talent was welcome and encouraged to join.Â
âGuys!â Evie and Mal went quiet. Your eyes were filled with excitement and determination. âIâm gonna sing a song for him. At the show.â You nodded, becoming more and more excited at the idea.

You focused on taking deep calming breaths, not even watching the talent going on stage before you. â(Y/N)!â Mal whispered, coming from the stairs that led to the audience, Evie right on her heels. âOoh girl! You look so good!â Evie praised even though she had seen you everyday for the last week.Â
Evie had sewn you a red dress that hugged your body in the right ways and stopped mid thigh. It was off the shoulder with sleeves that covered above your elbow to your wrist and a classic fuzzy white trim on the top of the bodice. It screamed sexy Christmas.
âWe got him here, right there.â Mal pointed through the curtains, leading you to peak through the folds, quickly spotting the familiar white haired boy in the audience next to Jay. Mal put her hand on your shoulder, grabbing your attention. âAll we had to do was tell him youâre performing and he nearly knocked us over trying to get here.â She winked at you, making you flush and match your dress.
The sound of applause from the audience and Fairy Godmother on the mic, thanking the performer, made you all turn your heads. âUp next, (Y/N)!â Evie and Mal whispered good lucks behind you before darting back into the audience the way they came.
You smoothed down your dress and walked out onstage, nearly being blinded by the lights. You reached center stage and adjusted the mic stand to your height. Once ready, you took a shaky breath and nodded to the audio guy in the wings who began the track.
Gazing over the audience, you met Carlosâs eyes and held his gaze as your cue for the first verse came.

You glanced at Carlos who was focused on you, cheeks flushed. You shot him a wink, flushing yourself as a smile spread across his face. In return, a wide victorious smile crossed yours.
You continued with the song, getting lost in the lyrics and emotions. So lost, in fact, you didnât notice Mal, Evie, and Jay shoving their way through the crowd, dragging Carlos to where he would be right in front of the stage. He didnât resist, not wanting to miss a single second of your song.
Soon the song was coming to an end and you met Carlosâs gaze again, him being closer than he was before. You took a leap of faith and pulled the mic off the stand and strutted to the end of the stage, easing yourself down gracefully.

You were barely singing, your voice being carried softly by the mic. You stopped in front of Carlos as the music ended, the crowd clapping and whistling louder than before.

You closed your eyes and leaned in, his lips finally meeting yours. This gift for Carlos was also a gift to you.
First thingâs first, he is a busy boy but he will make time for just the two of you during the week. This doesnât always go to plan though so be prepared to be whisked away for weekend getaways where it is just the two of you.
He knows that dating the King and being under public scrutiny for every little thing you do is stressful. He checks up on you before and after each event, to assure you that you are perfect and wonderful as his partner. If he thinks you need it, he will not hesitate to pull you away during events to calm down.
Heâs two sides of a coin when it comes to PDA. In public eye, he keeps it subtle with hand holding, side hugs, and cheek kisses. In private, he kicks it up to 100. He loves to bear hug you and lift you off the ground to spin. He loves to kiss all over your neck and face until youâre bright red.Â

He would be very affectionate but subtle and gentle while doing so. Heâs almost always holding your hand as you go around Alexandria or will have an arm thrown around your shoulders or waist.

He would be a thoughtful best friend, always trying to look out for them and keep them safe and happy. A friendship with him would start by having similar interests/stories and being able to relate to each other.

He loves to cuddle and prefers to have you on his chest at perfect range for forehead kisses or he would put his head on your lap, craving head scratches. Secretly he likes to be little spoon.

He would want to settle down but it would take him a while to not be nervous that the next day it could all be destroyed. He has little experience cooking but with a little help from you, he could learn more and get better. Cleaning isnât his favorite thing to do but he makes do.

He would be a bit nervous about commitment but he would make sure that this is something he wants 100% before following through. When it comes to you, he is firm but gentle in both ways. He would snap emotionally if he was stressed and angry or his partner wasnât listening to him. The most physically he would do is tug you away for privacy or shake your shoulders in an attempt to get you to listen to him.

He is touch starved when it comes to hugs from his favorite people. He is big on hello and goodbye hugs. He would put his face either into your neck or hair and close his eyes, taking just a moment of peace. Theyâre long and very tight.Â

He would want to be alone with you the first time he says it. He would ask Rick how to know if he loves someone and takes Rickâs advice of âYouâll just know. Youâll feel it with your entire chest.â He would relay this to you.

He would be adamant heâs not jealous, just protective. No one else buys this. He would stick by your side and give dirty looks to his opponent.Â

He would be almost too gentle but at his partnerâs insistence, he would be more passionate. Again, forehead and cheek kisses. He likes regular kisses that maybe last a little too long, that leave him red and breathless but also fleeting kisses to his cheek or shoulder.

Heâs great around kids, having experience with Judith and the other kids. Heâs pretty good about getting the kids focused on one project and keeping them safe and distracted.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
He would try to tug you back into bed if you get up first but would try and let you sleep for as long as possible. Heâs not the best cook but makes coffee in bed, sitting in comfortable silence. Too many times it gets too comfortable and leads to both of you rushing to get ready, giggling and cracking jokes.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Nights are usually rather quiet, him winding down by reading comics with you until either one or both of you canât keep your eyes open. Like above, heâs a big cuddlebug.Â

He can be aloof at times so it would have to be his partner that starts talking about themselves and slowly he would reciprocate with his own. He wouldnât immediately dump all of his info on you but would make sure you were responding and he was learning about you as well. Hâs an angry boy. He tries to not snap at you but if he does, heâs quick to apologize once heâs cooled off.

A lot. He would go to the adults in his group like Maggie and Glenn or Michonne and Rick for advice and ideas of how to make yallâs special day even more special.

A partner that is too naïve. A bit of naivety is a breath of fresh air but he likes a partner he knows can defend themselves and hold their own if they need to.

He is a light sleeper like will wake up every time his partner moves, even just to roll over. He will move with his partner, adjusting to how they position themselves. He also mumbles in his sleep.Â
