he nodded. “same here. but we don’t have to be alone anymore. as soon as you want, move right in. i’ll take a day off from work to help you move. and- don’t worry about it, i can handle rent on my own.” sure, he’d still have to work a lot, but it was nothing he couldn’t handle.
“we just- won’t frame it like that. we’ll lie, say we’re a couple, doing this because it’s our choice and it’s our plan. we’re young, but we know what we want.” he shrugged a little. “harder to judge if it was a long, thought-out decision.” carson couldn’t help but smile a little when she suggested he come with her. “yeah- i’d be happy to attend as much as you want me to.”
the idea of not being alone with her problems and thoughts anymore was calming, knowing she could have someone, even if it was someone she had never expected. “are you sure? you don’t have to drop everything for me, carson. we barely know each other. i don’t want to ruin your life.”
despite how she felt at the moment, harper couldn’t help but laugh quietly. “i don’t know how believable that is, but it’s worth a try i guess.” she sighed, finally giving in to the situation as she slid against the wall to sit on the ground. “this is really happening. we’re really going to have doctors appointments and have to tell people and change our lives completely.” she pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, almost not believing that she technically had a baby at this moment.
