I have so many fucking plot bunnies/random scenes in my goddamn notes ap on my phone, so I’m offloading them HERE so I don’t have to LOOK AT THEM anymore. Like literally I can’t back up my phone bc of how much is in my notes ap. It’s DUMB.

As an older queer, allow me to say: the walls of the closet are load-bearing. It is our job as a community to stand in front of that door and tell everyone who wants to peek inside to fuck off.

There are so many reasons a person may choose not to come out and there is no reason a person would owe the public or a stranger that information. Certainly it's not owed simply because someone is famous.

We have fought for decades to make it safer for people to be open and authentic about themselves, but we are not yet there. And even if we were, the closet would still be something we need to maintain for those who are not ready to reveal that part of themselves.

Listen but that’s how Steve could have wound up in Billy’s plot line instead of being just over here in a dumb mall plot line. (Like I love Robin but ugh the mall plot was weird af)

He’s not Billy’s friend exactly but he’s been coming around to shoot the shit while Steve gets a tan because he can’t get any sun at the mall. Billy is a thing to behold when he’s in charge of a pool of kids. He’s cocky and smarmy and oh so charming when he wants to be. And he always has something to say to Steve as he radiates sunshine. So when Billy isn’t being his normal, overwhelming self, Steve follows him and figures out somethings going on. He winds up with El and Max as they discover Billy’s possession.

and one of the first things steve learns about billy is that he's a "punch first ask questions later" kind of guy. maybe tommy's trying to freak steve out and he's listing all the shit billy's already gotten into, how the guy is covered in bruises, etc etc. and steve's immediately mentally like, okay this asshole has no friends and is extraordinarily violent, if i get him to stay at my place i will have Someone Else Helping if that monster thing comes crawling out my pool to kill me. i can use this. i am about to be this losers best friend forever

and then they fall in love but through 5 layers of duplicitous behavior instead of any honest communication

funniest convo ever with a guy who said 2 me "nobody uses journalism degrees" and i said "my mom has a bachelors in journalism" and he smiled like knowingly and said "yeah, but what does she do?" and i said "she runs a newspaper and publishes romance novels on the side." and he literally said "oh" and nothing else. like he ended the whole conversation there.
