Something about how Dexter looks to Harrison after he kills Kurt is almost childlike. There’s an interesting parallel to when he kills that guy for Harry. Except he expected Harry to approve. Thinking about Dexter working out at the gym like crazy trying to get back into “chases deer for fun” shape after his coma. One day he’s going through his fridge tshirt drenched in sweat after a workout and Harrison’s over doing homework and Dex is like, “Harrison what were those disgusting protein drinks you were drinking while you were wrestling called?”

And Harrison, surprised, tells him the brand and then says smugly, “I thought you said you’d rather put out a campfire with your face than drink one of those.”

And Dex is like, “I know, I know but I really need to bulk up faster. I’ve only gained 20 lbs of muscle back my body isn’t what it used to be. Just old I guess.”

He’s looking vaguely grumpy so Harrison’s trying to be all encouraging and is like “It seems like you're making great progress to me. You need new shirts, actually."

And Dex looks down at his shirt that's getting too tight in the shoulders and arms and scowls and is like "Yeah... not enough though. I used to wear an XL.”

And Harrison's like "Well there’s no rule that says you have to get back to the same size you were before, and it’s not like there’s any hurry? Seriously. Why are you pushing so hard to turn back into a giant?”

And Dexter just kind of coughs and starts making a sandwich and does not answer and Harrison can tell he's avoiding saying something but he doesn't know what, and then it hits him and he's like “Oh my god he’s trying to bulk up so he can kill people easier.”
