Sticking it to the man || Lucy and Harry
Squeezing Harry’s hand softly as the girl pulled her across the room she felt herself relax slightly. Stumbling onto a bar stool she let go of the girls hand and blushed slightly. “I’ll, uh, I’ll have whatever you’re having.”
"Alright." Harry grinned, pulling her fake-id out of her bag and flashing the returned barman a smile. "Woods navy rum," she said confidently, glancing at Lucy to make sure she was okay with the choice. "Two, please." Handing over her money to the barman, she turned in her seat to face the other girl, tucking her hair behind an ear. "It's probably the strongest drink you're going to find sold in a bar. This the only place I've found anywhere near here that does it, too. Bloody expensive stuff, though."
Hypothesis: If I stare at her ass for long enough, she'll notice I exist.
Shouldn’t you be studying?
*resumes chewing on her pen, smirking slightly* I am studying.
Sticking it to the man || Lucy and Harry
"Oh for.. Look, I appreciate the thought or whatever but I don’t need you to look after me. I don’t need anyone to look after me but me, okay?" She looked across the dance floor that she should fit into perfectly, but she felt wrong. Like she shouldn’t be there. Turning back to Harry she smiled sadly. "I’m sorry that I acted.. It’s just that.." She didn’t have to say it, nor did she want to. But last summer flew through her mind and she felt a shiver run through her spine. The warm hand on her arm settled her though, it made her feel grounded. "Yeah, I definitely need a drink."
"I was kidding," Harry gave her what she hoped was a reassuring smile. "I know, I was just..." She shook her head. "You don't have to explain yourself to me. C'mon." Leading Lucy by the hand, she moved back over to the bar, as far away as they could be from the tall blonde man. Pointing out the man to the barman and explaining what happened, watching him move over to a huge security guy. Satisfied, she turned back to Lucy. "There, dealt with. What d'you want to drink?"
Hypothesis: If I stare at her ass for long enough, she'll notice I exist.
*blushes slightly* You need it to happen a significant amount of times before you can generalise your findings to the total populace.
It wasn't a generalised hypothesis. I was only referring to one specific ass.
Sticking it to the man || Lucy and Harry
Lucy felt a sudden chill run through her body as she hastily shoved the drink aside, her eyes darting to the man sat a few seats away. Looking up at Harry she bit her lip, her flush deepening. “T-thanks for letting me, uh, know. Um, you should maybe, like, tell someone or something I really don’t think that anyone should be aloud to stay here if they’re.. How did he..? Oh Merlin.” Her words were coming out all wrong and she was aware that she was mumbling probably too quietly for Harry to hear but she couldn’t help herself. Taking a deep breath she tried to quickly compose herself although her heart was still hammering against her chest. “I’m not clueless Harry. I have my wand and muggle mace in my bag. And you know, you sounded like you were accusing rather then asking so I’m sorry if I jumped to conclusions or whatever.” She felt her eyes flicker towards the man again and she suddenly couldn’t stand to be anywhere near him. “Hey, let’s dance.” Jumping out of her chair she quickly pulled Harry across the room, hoping that the fear had faded from her eyes.
Harry saw Lucy's demeanour change and realised how freaked out she was. To be honest Harry was surprised, she had expected the girl to glare at him too and move on, being cavalier about it. She was about to try to comfort her, when she was dragged out into the dance floor. "Hey," she shouted over the music, touching Lucy's arm gently, suddenly not in the mood to dance so much. "Look, let me buy you another drink, and I'll tell the bartender what happened. You're not clueless, I'm sorry I said that. I was just surprised to see you." Managing a relatively friendly smile, she raised her eyebrows a little. "You're okay, you know. They've got people in here watching everyone to make sure that shit doesn't happen. And you've got your wand and mace or whatever." Harry suddenly realised her wand was under her bed at home. "Besides, you've got me here now. The second most influential Harry in the wizarding world." She winks, "I'll look after you."
Hypothesis: If I stare at her ass for long enough, she'll notice I exist.
Null hypothesis: The amount of time I stare at her ass will have no significant affect on her noticing my existence and any effect shown is due to chance factors alone.
Counter-evidence: It just worked, didn't it?
Sticking it to the man || Lucy and Harry
Lucy felt her smile widen as someone tapped her shoulder. Company, she thought to herself, at fucking last. As she turned around Lucy tried to put on her widest smile but before she could utter a single word the contentment had fallen from her face. Harry Dursley. Out of all the people she could have ran into it had to be her. Lucy looked away as the slightly taller girl spoke, her face heating up with embarrassment. Lucy had felt so important as the anonymous girl that nobody knew but now? She fiddled with the straw in her drink. Shrugging, she averted her eyes. “I’m just trying to have a bit of freedom I suppose.” She spoke loudly so the other girl could hear here over the consistent music. “There’s no need to sound like I’ve personally offended you by being here.”
Watching Lucy's face fall, Harry's scowl deepened. "I'm not offended." She lied, folding her arms. "I'm just wondering what someone as clueless as you is doing in a muggle bar all by herself." She looked Lucy up and down with some scorn, eyeing the glass in the other girl's hand. "And by the way, I'd throw your drink away if I was you. Creepy blonde guy poured something in it while I was walking over here." She gestured to a stranger, throwing him a truly fierce glare, putting to shame all the resentful expressions she'd aimed at Lucy so far. Harry bites her lip as she turned back to the other girl, expression just a little bit softer. "He;s been in here all week, don't blame yourself."
Hypothesis: If I stare at her ass for long enough, she'll notice I exist.
-peers over her shoulder and smiles softly at the pictures- Or three. -rocks back and forth on the balls of his feet-
Well, it's too bad they still haven't come up with a spell to stop you from being a pretentious douchebag.
I miss my hair being like that. Maybe there's a spell to make it grow back?
