i spitball fic and verse ideas a lot, but honestly, i hardly ever write fic anymore
HOWEVER, consider something for me: Bellamort with requited feelings, but it’s Dark and Terrible. They have an… arrangement, an agreement to chase physical pleasures together, with the concept of feelings being utterly alien to what both of them want.
They fall in love unwillingly, fighting tooth and nail every step, hiding it so well that despite being consumed by their love for the other, neither knows their feelings are reciprocated. No matter how strongly they love, they’re still monsters. They’re still prideful, still vicious, still unstable and bloodthirsty. They cannot allow themselves to show the slightest sign of weakness, not to each other, not to anyone.
But they’re desperately in love. They’re disgusted with themselves for feeling this way, Voldemort especially. He’s supposed to be better than this, better than foolish human feelings. Love is weak, and worthless, and he hates himself for loving her. He can never allow her to learn of this.
Bellatrix is sickened by the fluttering of her own heart when he’s near. She hates it, partly because she’s disappointed in herself for being so foolish as to fall in love with him, and partly because she believes he would be disappointed, disgusted with her if he were to learn of her soft, foolish, traitorous heart.
They work so hard to keep hiding it from themselves, each other, and the world. It’s supposed to be just sex and nothing else. Both Voldemort and Bellatrix assume that if the other knew how miserably they’d failed to strangle this rotten affection festering inside them, then the other would immediately call off the arrangement, would be disgusted with them.
The love they have for each other is burning, consuming, devouring, obsessive. They both die without ever having told the other their true feelings.
