Ron remembers those days after the war, when he felt nauseous with grief. When all he wanted was to hide from it, but it was everywhere. In George's blank, still shocked face. In his mother's hands, folding Fred's laundry carefully, to put it back in a drawer where it wouldn't be touched anymore. In his father's tears, hidden in the shed amongst the things he was forever tinkering with.

And then, there was Harry.

Ron was a sucker for nostalgia.

Every once in a while, he would sit in the Astronomy Tower and relive the memories of his boyhood days. With his Astronomy book in hand, he lists the stars he can see through Charlie’s brass telescope and reads the small notes penned in it over the years. It’s a shame that his old uniform didn’t fit anymore.

I’m very sorry for the very long delay to post this masterlist. Unfortunately, I don’t/didn’t have the time to host the fest this year. I hope we can have another one in 2024 :)

unfortunately I couldn’t make it happen this year yet again. Life is so full for me rn (with good and not so good things) that I don’t have the mental capacity to organise this fest.

But I would like to get your thoughts on doing a smaller version of this fest.

I’ll give you a still uncertain amount of prompts, but this time it will be only single words (no tropes or quotes included like in the previous fests). You can write a fic (as long as you like) or draw something or make a moodboard with the prompt(s) you like.

There will be no deadline, but you can post your work here on Tumblr and tag @harryronfest. I’ll reblog all your works and will make a masterlist that I’ll update every couple of weeks. I’ll also open the AO3 collection again for you to add your work there.

Harryronfest will start May 2025

This fest will run next year, starting in May where I will post the prompts. It will be open prompts, meaning everyone can write or draw for every prompt. There will be no claiming.

Please note that today starts the @ronarryfest! It’s a fest where you can claim specific prompts. So we’ll have two fests for this pairing next year, but with different prompt options.

I’ll see you in May with the prompts and a slightly new concept.

Prompts for the HarryRon Fest

Would an assortment of 15-20 prompts be enough for you? I thought that I’d do about 20 word/trope prompts and maybe in addition I post submitted prompts by you that are up „for adoption“.

I don’t have a clear idea yet about this, but as a general concept I thought it would be nice if anyone who wants to could –additionally to the word/trope prompts I provide– submit a longer prompt.

What do I mean by longer prompt?

I’ll give these kind of prompts: Sun, Moon, Stars, Marriage Law AU, etc.

An example for a longer prompt would be: Character A meets Character B at work and they get paired up for a project.

These longer prompts can be as detailed as the prompter wants it to be. The only thing that I would like to avoid in this case are submitted prompts that are also just a word or trope prompt.

What do you think about the general idea?

It’s happening…but not now

Hey friends, I know a lot of you are very excited that this fest might run again. And I have good and bad news about it.

The good news is that I definitely want to run this fest again. I want there to be a fest for this wonderful pairing. I want you amazingly talented writers and artists to share your stories and art with us and I would absolutely love to use this fest to let everyone unwrap your presents to this fandom.

The bad news is that it will happen later than I wanted it to. That means that most likely we will start off at the end of this year and start posting in March/April 2025.

I know that I don’t really owe an explanation, but I want to give one anyway. Right now, my head and my schedule is full and I have absolutely no time or energy to organise this. There’s so much going on in my life in the next months that I can’t think about some time to breath until at least November. There’s work, there’s an upcoming move, there’s a new hobby I discovered for myself that took over a big part of my free time. In short, I have to wait for things to settle a little before I can even think about running this fest again.

Some of you have offered me help which I’m immensely grateful for and that I’ll definitely take you up on. I also want to emphasise that if someone might feel inspired to host another fest with the Harry/Ron pairing, please go ahead and do it. First of all, you don’t need my permission to do that of course. And also there can definitely be more than one fest/event for them.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm and support! I hope we can make this happen again as soon as I have a little bit more free time again.

Is the fest only about a romantic relationship between the two or does bromance count as well?

It’s more focused about them as a romantic pairing, but it’s also okay to write/draw them as friends. If your creation focuses on another relationship (i.e. Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Harry/Draco) then it’s not something for this fest though.

Examples for what to NOT create for this fest

❌ Ron and Harry talking about their relationship with X-character

❌ Harry asking Ron to help him to ask out X-character

❌ Ron confessing to Harry that he likes X-character
