Another thing a lot of kids need to remember is to NEVER DISCLOSE YOUR AGE. EVER. NOT EVEN IN THE COMMENTS OR POSTS. IF YOU'VE ALREADY DONE ANY OF THAT, IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO DELETE THEM.
I keep seeing kids bragging about having bypassed the ban like "I'm 15 and still on YouTube! I manage to make a fake account posing as a 30 year old and install a VPN" or "I'm using X's account so bleh!". Like nonono! PLEASE GOD DON'T!
You're just giving the government more reasons to implement much stricter policies. They're even targeting VPNs now. I really hope these governments across the globe reconsider passing on the social media ban and just implement something more effective without affecting other people's lives.
No matter what, never give your IDs. Don't panic. Stay calm. Talk to any trustworthy adult for help.
To sum it all up, all these social media bans can backfire, especially towards those living in a less ideal environment and want some privacy. Remember the movie "Belle"?
I know the movie kinda sucks given its messy writing, but they at least have some moments tackling serious issues such as parental abuse, parasocial relationships and online culture. I won't spoil anything but I think they did a fair job showing how the Internet can also save lives in my opinion.
Oh, some kid who's homeschooled and never allowed to have friends by their parents? They get to be seen in the virtual world. You find yourself in danger where the police failed to help? There's the Internet. Want to be a celebrity but don't have the resources to travel? Yep, there's the Internet for 'ya.
This is why the government shouldn't be meddling with anyone's online activities in the first place. If your kid is old enough to own a device, you should be able to teach them online safety. Heck, teach online safety as part of the school curriculum.
They also can't just look at one kid who suffered depression and other eating disorders, then assume everyone else experiences the same thing.
Listen! I've seen some questionable stuff at a young age and it definitely took a toll on my psyche. However, I'm also a tough cookie. I learn and grow from that experience instead of letting it hold me back. Give yourself a break. Set healthy boundaries.
With the recent news of school violence happening in the Philippines, the country continues to perpetrate this false idea that video games and the Internet are all to blame for why these kids are straight-up committing murder.
Like ehm! Maybe if the government just focused on improving people's lives and taking mental health seriously, none of these would've been a problem. If the parents could barely find the time to bond with their kids even on the weekends due to work, at least entrust the kids to a reliable adult who could look over them.
Another thing I hate is how these absent parents who are barely in the picture getting mad at their kids for not turning out the way they want them to. Honey, how do you suppose they're meant to behave around you when neither of you have talked to each other in a while? They don't effin' know you that well.
Even if the kid is hesitant to open up to you, it is important to earn that trust. Kids are very sensitive, therefore they can at least pick up on how trustworthy you are. You can't just force them to listen to you and try controlling their every move.
Why should I trust you with what I do online? How will I know you wouldn't punish me for being active on here and speaking my mind?
Either the best way is to declare a social media ban to kids under 13 or teach them online safety. Oh wait! You wouldn't want that because it'd encourage them to turn against you and become smarter than you. That's just how I see it when it comes to these Internet bills! It's another excuse to keep them under control and make the youth retaliate even more.

Happy Int'l Pride Day, everyone! Always stay beautiful and colorful π³οΈβπβ¨
I was supposed to post this on Friday buuut what the heck! TADC is now available in theatres worldwide Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
I initially wanted Gameoverse and Planetronika be featured in the May issue but I thought it'd be a lot cooler to celebrate the show alongside the upcoming TADC finale and FIFA World Cup. I mean, it's rather fitting since both characters from Gameoverse and Planetronika fit into this athletic gamer girl vibes.
To those who haven't seen TADC in theatres yet, I suggest avoiding this issue at all cost.
Also, take the prices with a grain of salt as they may not be accurate but no doubt it's gonna cost around Php 175-200 (at least in the Philippines), including the freebies and posters that come with it. I've made this over the span of two weeks.
As for the newbies out there, check out my other fanmade Glitch magazines right here.
Looking back at it, Mamoru Hosoda's "Belle" has a tiny bit of similarity to TADC's finale. The titular character Belle (a.k.a. Suzu Naito) reaches out to the Beast (a.k.a. Kei) the same way Pomni does with Jax.
Just listening to "Lend Me Your Voice" also felt fitting as Jax could be like the Beast who lashes out and continues to push people away as he deals with his inner demons. He is traumatized, hurt and confused.
If you're looking for a much sadder and emotional finale, just imagine Pomni suddenly singing this song as she walks towards him.
Here's an excerpt of the song:
It's easy to push me away from you Easy to say you want to be left on your own Yet somehow I can't help but see How your eyes shy away Your hands seal the entrance and path to your heart Anger kept fear and the sadness you feel Under the surface for so long Locked that room, you keep it inside
Lend me your voice Words you try so hard to forget They'll break through the silence Bring me close Let me see the past you regret Deep down below, show it all
Lend me your voice Let me see your face let me start to show you what I see Bring me close Let me feel the beat of your heart the secret you bury
Lend me your voice Anything you want to say, I'll be right here I'll listen, so tell me Open the door
Now, before anyone disses me in the comments, just know this is based on my personal opinions and interpretation. Besides, "Belle" is like TADC, which often takes place in the virtual world.

As someone with a personality disorder, Caine is kin material lol. Gooseworx did a great job at not only portraying the "borderline" of neurosis (compulsion to appease and be accepted/liked and need for control) and psychosis (the paranoid insecurity and existential fear of abandonment, if no one is actively thinking about/interacting with the individual then the individual believes everyone hates them or doesn't want them [episode 5 anyone?]), but also what it takes to get better.
I loved the scene of Caine "becoming human" through raw trial and error. Deep mental illness makes you feel profoundly inhuman as you look at what everyone else can accomplish and do and maintain, but you can't even have a friend.
You don't walk out of it thinking you're a good person. All those shapes that fell, imagine they are people. All the different shapes represent their specific code, their colors represent their temperament. They are all a combination of what they believe and value and what they have been through.
Understanding how those make closed loop systems, what makes a person, helps recognize how you can be a person too.
And that's what healing looks like.
It's also why I am so opposed to this legacy call-out culture online and in fandoms. If something doesn't involve you, mind your business about someone's past. You don't have to like them, or even give them a chance personally. But they DO have the right to move on and have the chance to be someone else to others. Not letting people move on isn't a sign of a good person.
It's the sign of someone who feels like they are bad, so they need to find someone they think is worse to deflect from themselves.
But the BEST part about Caine was the scene with the Moon. He says "I never programmed you to say you love me." And that's what it means when people say no one can love you until you love yourself.
Caine was so busy trying to make everyone love him, he couldn't accept the love that was willingly given to him. And it was only when he accepted he was maybe undeserving of that love- and accepted that reality- that true, genuine connection could make it through.
OMG same here! I like this personal take. I also had similar experiences where I try to please everyone and want to be in control. We all have our ups and downs, but we're also allowed to grow and change instead of letting that one unpleasant moment define us forever.
At some point, we've all been like Caine or met someone like him in real life. We are somewhat aware of our flaws but it ain't easy not ending up hurting and driving people away.
Am I the only one who wasn't very satisfied with the TADC finale? I was expecting it to have a disturbing ending where we get to see these humans being confined in a lab and experimented on by North Korean scientists or somethin'.
Instead, we got loads of slow therapy talk and disjointed music that felt out of place. It just dragged on a bit. When did Jax and Zooble actually know each other IRL? It wasn't even hinted at all and felt like they just added it in there.
I also remember seeing someone mention that Goose might've been forced to change the ending at the last second to avoid backlash.
It's just my two cents. I could be wrong.
Media Literacy 911: The Amazing Digital Circus
Alright Anon, I'll treat this as good faith, but I'm going to tell you, you are pushing it with this one. So I'm going to start and say, if that was the story you wanted, you should go write a dark AU fanfiction/fix-it fic. It is absolutely your right to not like the story Gooseworx told.
Anon ask looks poorly worded lmao .. I'm also so sorry you have to deal with that, OP! *wheezing continues ΰ²₯βΏΰ²₯*
They should try rewatching the whole show 'coz they literally missed the point. I really can't help but feel bad for Goose, considering how she had to deal with people literally misunderstanding her work.
With that said, I can understand having a different opinion and interpretation but OH MY GOD! I assume this is some little kid.
I am also one of those people who initially expected a rather sombre ending but what we got was already much better.
Therapy talk? Anon wouldn't survive other Shonen anime like Fairy Tail and One Piece as they tend to have some emotional moments not far different from TADC. Some people just need to admit something might not be for them ΰ² _ΰ²
Disjointed music? You mean the "Isn't She Lovely" song? I assume 'cheesy and emotional' is the right word you might be looking for, anon.
[Circa 2050. As the rest of the world burned, ravaged by numerous wars, famine, natural disasters, and civil unrest, the once powerful and greatest nations have fallen, but one small nation has resurfaced as a new superpower in the midst of a deadly storm, strange phenomena, and deep secrets.]
Hey there, mate! In case youβre wondering, I am currently in the process of improving TCOTRB (The Case of The Red Bubble) β also, check out this rad new profile background I made teasing the book on my Wattpad profile. Also, rest assured that the overall premise, characters and writing will stay intact.
I remember reading it again and let's sat it was painfully cringe (HAHA!). There were some repetitive paragraphs and probably many confusing parts that I might've overlooked so hopefully itβd be more appealing to new readers β and olβ fans revisiting it β as well.
Tomorrow on Saturday, the rest of Chapter VIII will be out on Wattpad at 06:00 (GMT+8). Starting next week, the other remastered chapters will fall on Fridays (16:00 GMT+8) and Sundays (06:00 GMT+8).
By the way, here's a close-up of the Philippines. They consist of dome islands that are built above sea level. Oh, that's not all! They also have settlements beneath each island underwater.
To the curious newcomers, here's a sample chapter of TCOTRB. Taken from the first part of [Chapter II: Conspiracy (?)].
Also, beware of any mention of disgusting viruses, blood and amateur writing. If you're gonna be a grammar cop in search of impeccable writing and misinterpret the story, then this might not be for you.
PIT-PAT-PIT-PAT ...
The loud shushing sound of the rain drummed against the dome's glass surface. It only allowed some through its tiny formed holes - like a giant shower head - until an hour had passed. This is done to prevent any flooding.
Milo was on a video chat with Kaira, Leo, Jin and Irene via his laptop. He kept glancing at his bed window where there appears to be a bright red light in the distance.
"I kept seeing it ever since we moved here. The Red Bubble usually glows at night so maybe one of you could tell me what it is ...Β " he pleaded with an awkward grin and both hands gesturing at them.
There was a moment of silence.
They could hear a child's high-pitched screaming coming from Leo's camera. Leo slowly popped a potato chip into his mouth before talking. He looks jaded, but at the same time, has gotten used to his little sister causing a ruckus around the house.
"Well, my friend ... That place is off-limits and the authorities say we shouldn't go near that place," he said.
"What do you think is in that place?" Milo asked.
"Nobody knows for sure, but they had closed that off following the deadly Magrana virus outbreak ten years ago," Leo said.
TheΒ Magrana outbreakΒ was caused by the virus of the same name. It has left people with huge bloody boils on their bodies, their blood becoming infected until their insides resemble the pulps of a real pomegranate. Hence, its Catalan name "magrana."
Since it started on that island, it had to be closed off while its residents are forbidden from ever leaving.
"I doubt that," Irene refuted, "How come it was never broadcasted on TV? Besides, that story is just made up by some kid from BreadIt*."
She argued that there was no way the Magrana virus existed, though something similar was called the Mariana disease except it didn't turn people's insides into pulps.
"Do you think the government is hiding a secret bioweapon in there?" Jin asked.
"Maybe," the rest answered in chorus.
Irene then told Milo about how the subject of The Red Bubble is a rather sensitive topic in this country. You are not allowed to share any personal theories or try diving into this case yourself in public spaces - most notably, on social media.
Of course, spreading them is forbidden. However, it is fine to keep it within a limited group.
"Either you riskΒ losingΒ your online privileges or if you're lucky, be requested to take down the -Β " she was suddenly stopped when Leo's camera disappeared from the chat.
"Oh no ... It's his darn Internet connection again!" Jin face-palmed.
* NOTE: - "BreadIt" is a parody of the website called Reddit.
β A random quick doodle of myself dressed up goth (inspired by Toot Braunstein from the adult cartoon "Drawn Together"). I know the character sucks but I have to admit, her hair and outfit is lowkey kind of cute. She looks more like your standard baby-faced chubby goth chick who definitely works at Goth iHop.
β‘ The right side shows how I mostly look throughout the years. Not gonna lie, I look really fat and ugly throughout most of my formative years. Still, I appreciate having to go through that awkward phase and made me realize I'm actually more of an emo person due to my nonconformist personality.
β’ Another doodle on the bottom left is like an AU of myself. If I didn't become an artist, I'd definitely be in a band.
β ... Er, maybe as a drummer because I suck at interacting with people (as shown through this drawing of Mina killing it with the drums).
β‘ The right shows me throughout my adulthood. I can imagine myself in my thirties still being an angry emo chick who flips at ageist propaganda. I know, I'm old and single so shut up!/nm
β’ By the way, check out this drawing I made of Kurt Cobain from memory as shown on the bottom left.
P.S. To anyone asking if I take commissions, make sure you're a legit person and your profile contains enough information telling me what company, origin and the kind of services you offer complete with contact info. I don't use PayPal due to safety reasons. For example, [First name/Last name] from the Penguin House Department in Australia looking for a book cover artist who can do a vector-esque art style. I wanna know who you really are and if you got any references. Don't just say you wanna hire me or I'll block you. Also, if you wish to share my art, please give credit. DO NOT REUPLOAD!
kind of dont like but eeuh

Soooo I've just watched the finale of TADC and I must say it really paid off. We finally get to learn about Ragatha and Jax's past together. Everyone is free (sorta). Caine has redeemed himself. The characters have finally overcome their personal demons and healed.
I know people may not be a fan of the "therapy talk", but I like how it's able to give us time to breathe and slow down a bit. It felt like a huge break from the bombastic misadventures.
Just a personal nitpick, I was expecting Jax to be in a band or somethin' where he gets to perform at Zooble's workplace back in the human world.
Side note: Don't you think it'd be a lot cooler if Jim Carrey also voiced Caine? After all, Caine is supposed to be this wacky and expressive silly gremlin who's a cross between The Mask and The Grinch.
Don't get me wrong, Alex Rochon is a talented guy but having one of the biggest Hollywood stars surely would've made TADC into a multimillion IP. I know that is expecting for too much considering this is supposed to be an indie production and Jim Carrey might be part of a union.

A friendly reminder to our happy moviegoers to use the right tags like '#tadc finale' and '#tw spoilers.' In case people miss it, this is just a fan-made magazine solely created for fun and not affiliated with Glitch in any way.
I can only imagine how torturous it must be to buy this magazine as someone who is yet to see the finale and try avoiding the entire TADC section because of spoilers. I also thought it'd be cool if we got FIFA-inspired trading cards featuring other indie characters.
Hopefully, starting next month there'll be news about Lackadaisy, The Gaslight District (which I'm betting it'd be right before Halloween) and Knights of Guinevere (likely to be around Thanksgiving or Christmas season).
