Firstly, congrats on writing an entire book! Ive always wondered if you would ever venture into trad publishing and i am so incredibly happy for you, so excited! I have already preordered it :D

Personal stuff has me on hiatus from writing. I don't know when I'll go back to IAL as Blizzard sort of killed my love for the IP. I do want to finish WIPs though.
Book 1 is out. Book 2 is sorely in need of a content edit and I need to confer with my poor cover artist...oh no, there is so much to do.

I'm having tummy hurty and was idly considering how love interests/retinue members would "help" with varying results.
The Good Ones:
Heinrix: Biomancy, obviously. And he would also utilize common remedies based on medical knowledge and personal experience. He has the anti-nausea meds, the electrolyte solution, the stims on hand. Heinrix doesn't try very hard to get the RT to rest. He won't criticize them for it or judge them if they do, but he works through his sick days and with his skilled intervention they should be fine! Twice as efficient, even. (But if they want to stay in bed, he could do some work alongside them.)
Abelard: The most competent/successful option after Heinrix. Has enough medicae knowledge to help and to know when to call in the chirugeon. Already dotes on the RT, so this is business as usual.
Solomorne: Also has basic knowledge and common sense, but he would probably stick to treating the symptoms: over the counter meds, cold compresses, more stims. But he would focus on putting the RT to bed and telling them to stay there, with Glaito enforcing the order.
Jae: She would be most sympathetic, pushing for chirugeon consultation and using her own comforting home remedies. There would be fussing, and spoon feeding, and tucking the RT into bed while chiding them that they work too hard and if she gets sick, she expects them to show just as much care.
The Bad:
Marazhai: Eww gross, a diseased mon-keigh. He should have had a haemonculus fix them, but is it really worth all that effort? Even the pain is phlegmatic. He might sample it and just make it worse. "Does it feel like your flesh is burning up, like your skin is crawling? Are there pins and needles stabbing into your skull and digits? Is the migraine pulsing like a hatching mind maggot? How unbearable is this compared to-?"
Yrliet: She has minimal understanding and mild sympathy. What else would you expect with a weak mon-keigh constitution? What is she supposed to do about it? This is just something they must endure. She doesn't mean to be insensitive, but she is.
Cassia: She does care, but she works herself up into a panic, with lots of fretting and hand-wringing that could easily turn into emotional projection. Honestly, Uve has to take over and calm her down while Abelard cares for the RT.
Kibellah: She will utilize all the skills and medicines at her disposal to help, but the Vizier was not exactly a great caregiver. The poor RT will be subjected to bleeding, an onslaught of quack medicine (hallucinogenics!), and Kibellah already knows they'll be fine because the Undying One has not whispered their name. Yet.
The...Bonus:
Pasqal: This is clearly a weakness of the flesh and if the RT were to embrace a more rational path, this would not happen. No sympathy, lots of lectures and mild disgust at the inefficiency of snot and other bodily fluids. Abel or Abelard actually have to intercede.
Idira: The voices say the RT will be fine, and while she’s sympathetic, she’ll let the old man handle this.
Argenta: She will pray for them. And burn the plague rags as necessary. They’ll be great kindling for the heretics.
Ulfar: He knows mortals are fragile and initially tells them to buck up. But belatedly, perhaps he realizes that he is being a little unreasonable. Astartes don't get the flu. So he keeps them company, tries to feed them, and maybe doses them with foul Fenrisian medicines.
"Our cure for what ails you is to sit naked in the snow for 45 minutes while huffing this herbal steam! Here, drink this!”
“It smells awful.”
“It is just world serpent's venom mixed with bear bile! Good for the immune system! “
These treatments are also poison for normal humans, but they will overshadow/kill whatever virus the RT has.
Incendia: Clearly this is what they get for being careless and impertinent, and she doesn't feel an iota of sympathy for their plight. Discreetly, she orders the servants to serve hot broth/tea and nags about how they need more blankets/socks from a safe distance. She is not getting sick. She will not nurse them. She is not close enough to them for that! (What a tsundere. <3)
Uralon the Cruel: Gives sermons from the Book of Lorgar because those always make him feel better. It should come as no surprise that this doesn’t really work for anyone else.
Calligos: This man doesn't get sick and while he's probably great at field medicine, he's not exactly a sympathetic caregiver. This is servant's work and at best, he will let them sleep and check in later. Of course, he will threaten/punish the chirugeons if his companion does not recover quickly enough.
He's not squeamish, but he's not necessarily skilled at making people feel better. He will hold their hair back while they're puking. He will also offer them amasec afterwards to "get the taste out." He means well, but he’s also kind of an idiot.
After 300 years, he cannot be entirely ignorant. Calligos is probably amazing at setting bones, staunching bleeding, and treating battlefield injuries. But sickness? He can't remember the last time he was ill and that would not be manly. (When this man catches the flu every decade or so, he's a miserable pain in the ass and convinced that he’s been poisoned and is dying.)
Nocturne: (This is assuming a lot of my horny Noct headcanons are true: mostly that he’s a maladjusted touch-starved maniac who is thrilled to have discovered a fun and willing companion after all this time. He’s cuddly in private, like a giant extroverted cat.)
He is legitimately fascinated by their reactions and he loves to poke and prod. It takes him a bit to understand the differences in human physiology, but then he stays in bed with the RT, clinging, cooing, and nursing them with enthusiasm but questionable medical knowledge. Nocturne is charmed because it reminds him of how sad and pathetic (cute) the RT was when they first met. And this time he can do more than inject random drugs into their chest and refer them to a haemonculus.
@primarchslut gets credit for imagining everyone as sexy nurses, especially Marazhai and Nocturne as Bubble Head Nurses from Silent Hill. (Calligos and/or Ulfar can cosplay as Pyramid Head – in an apron and a silly helmet. You know Calligos would lift it up to flash a cheeky wink and a psychotic grin.)
