Not even a full four years in and I wanna quit youtube

The ai slop "features" are pissing me off. "Write a comment with ai", "make a thumbnail with ai", "make ai voice over", "ai search", "ai" this "ai" that.

"ai trains on your comments to make automated replies more realistic-" SHUT UPP I don't want it to train on my art and my way of talking. "Oh but ai companies scraped the entire internet anyway why does it matter?" because it just does??? As a human I have the potential to make new things. Even if all I do is copy others via animation meme format I still make something new in the process. Ai cannot make shit and I don't want it to make shit. I want it to die and every person investing billions into it to die along with it

And don't even get me started on algorithms and moderation and copyright and the app barely functioning and-

Tumblr doesn't really work with videos well, tiktok is a toxic hell of an app where no one has any form of literacy, twitter/bluesky are the same as tiktok if not worse, telegram barely has any english-speaking users that are also normal people, and youtube alternatives either have nobody on them or are so early in development they can crash at any second

And apps like facebook and instagram aren't even an option because I hate anything owned by meta with a passion. They are on the same level as disney in my eyes, and I would nuke disney if I could

I don't know where this rant is going

But I probably will quit sooner or later. Not the first time I thought about it this year. I absolutely do still want to make stuff but it'll definitely take a while to find a place where one can post without issues like that. (Or we'll go traditional, recording shit on dvd and sending it to my friends via post office 🙏 /half joking, as silly as it sounds I may actually do it at some point). Because drawing for yourself is fun and all but I still wanna connect with other humans (who could've thought!)

Last year when I was visiting another submarine museum our guide was this radiocommunications guy who served on a sub before. You'd think that's nice but he was genuinely the most insufferable person alive and barely gave any information on the history/structure/etc. of the actual submarine we were on. He mostly yapped about his years in the navy while we tried to ignore him and study the thing on our own. Anyway at some point this hoe mentioned that he loved serving because that meant he "wasn't forced to spend time with his annoying wife and eat her stupid bellpeppers". And first of all fuck this guy., Second of all shoutout to his wife, I'm sure her cooking was amazing and hopefully she divorced his ass and is living her best life now. And third of all this phrase alone was enough to make me the most insane bellpepper fan out there. I loved bellpeppers before but now I eat triple the usual amount purely out of spite. I had bellpeppers for breakfast today. 6 AM bellpeppers. First dish of the day. Fuck that guy. We fucking love bellpeppers
