According to Sentier Research the median income as of June 2018 was $62,175 which is in the 22% federal tax bracket for an individual filing. For the last couple of years I have tried to think of cashflow “out” in terms of my time. My personal tax rate including state income tax puts me at nearly four months of working for taxes, so imagine working January thru April before collecting a paycheck.
