forgive them. your heart will be lighter for it. forgive them because it gives you closure. it’s all in the past now, and they can’t hurt you there.
What in the fuck is this
Tomorrow I go to orientation and then I head back into town to move stuff into my new place. My new place with only one room mate, who's a partner and I'm so irritable right now.
This morning the earliest version of a song I’ve been working on for over a year leaked to the Internet. That song being my cover of “These days”, written by Jackson Browne most famously preformed by Nico, with Drake. If you follow me you’ll know this song had been on its way for a long time as I posted the art in the fall of last year. You’ll know I’ve been working on this to make it perfect. It really sucks when things like this happen because this song is something I put a lot of heart and soul into and it means the world to me. These days is my favorite song, it captures me fully as a person. I shared the song with Drake for that reason-because he had never heard the song beforehand and he also really connected with it. It was really cool because he’s someone I admire from every aspect and for him to understand why I love this song and for him to love it too meant so much to me. That’s how this cover came to life, two musicians who connected on a song of the past that resonates with so many people no matter the era. Give the finished version, this version, my version a listen and you’ll see why this song means so much to me. You’ll hear all the time and heart that was put into it. You’ll feel the real emotion it was made with that you can’t find in the leaked version. https://babeobagginsofbarftroop.bandcamp.com/album/love-songs-for-tough-guys

BLACK LIVES MATTER #blmtotentcity #blacklivesmatter #toronto
http://torontoist.com/2016/03/the-faces-of-black-lives-matter-toronto/I didn’t realize this would get so many notes. I should also mention for anyone who isn’t in Toronto that BLM TO has been camping outside of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Headquarters for 6 days going on 7 now. They have been there in subzero temperatures, snow, rain, and freezing rain. They have been attacked by the police, men, women, children, trans folks, disabled folks - all attacked by the police, tents were forcibly taken down, power cut off, and an unknown chemical was used to put out a small fire (which the Toronto Fire Services said was perfectly legal to have). Global News reported on BLM TO and said they had set up a bonfire…. it was an empty drum filled with firewood, but ok.
Today we shut down College street between Bay and Yonge for a few hours. Many folks in cars honked in support. BLM TO was originally going to be at Nathan Philips Square (City Hall) to protest the decision not to charge the officer who killed Andrew Loku in July 2015… not to mention the officer’s name was never mentioned. On Thursday, March 24, 2016, we walked into the Police Headquarters peacefully with human rights laywer, Saron Gebresellassi, to issue a lawsuit against the Toronto Police. Also would like to mention that BLM TO was created and is held down by queer and trans Black women and we are in support of Jermaine Carby, an unarmed Black man who was shot and killed by Peel police in Brampton in September, 2014. Here are some links/photo essays about what’s been happening so far http://www.blogto.com/city/2016/03/black_lives_matter_toronto_protest_digs_in_for_long_haul/ http://torontoist.com/2016/03/the-faces-of-black-lives-matter-toronto/ http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2016/03/24/black-lives-matter-deliver-lawsuit-to-police-for-toronto-mother.html http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2015/07/21/no-charges-against-peel-police-in-death-of-jermaine-carby.html
EARTH CRISIS at Chicago Filmmakers, July 1995. It’s hilarious that MK-ULTRA and CHARLES BRONSON opened for them.
