Well, I’ve seen a few people do the thing when they reach a milestone, so I think I’m going to do the thing.
To get this out of the way, thank you for following first of all! I know I get sidetracked but a lot of you are really patient with me and it is appreciated! One day I will get around to rping with everyone that asks, hell - maybe I will one day FINISH something! Wouldn’t that be a shock huh?

Jefferson sucked in a breath as the king finally took his leave. The air seemed somehow lighter in his leaving, fresher. And really, Jefferson hadn't been sure how much longer he could hold up the ruse of actually giving one royal damn about George's precious kingdom or its troubles. It wasn't that he had anything against either of them - the king or his kingdom.
He just wasn't interested in standing around hearing about it. Things to do, places to be, after all. Specifically, not that, and not there. Castles were always so...stuffy.
"By your leave, your highness," he called into the empty room, and with a tip of his hat and a rolling flourish, he pocketed his gold and started for the door.
Epiphany.
It came to him suddenly. No forewarning, no forethought; it had simply...occurred to him, in the shortest moment of brutal clarity, sudden and stark enough that it had driven a gasp from his lips and the cup from his hands. Everything that had happened since that fateful day, since that split second decision to risk everything he had to give his daughter more...everything he'd suffered, everything he'd done. All the years of unimaginable suffering, not a moment's peace...it struck him, a cruel and heartbreaking epiphany...
He truly was mad.

James pulled Jefferson against him, grinning and pressing a quick kiss to his lips. “My father’s put a bounty on your head, I suggest you run before someone notices you’re here.”
Jefferson grinned against James’s lips. “Come now,” he said, a bit breathlessly. His cheeks were rosy, and his hair beneath his hat was wind-blown from what had been one hell of a run through the castle. “Where’s your sense of adventure?” And with a tip of his hat, he leaned in to steal another quick kiss, before continuing his mad dash as the king’s soldiers clamored into the hallway.

The truck had veered around the cat, followed by Sean’s incoherent swearing before he finally pulled in front of the house and grinned toward Jefferson.
"Recognize this place don’t cha? It’s Madame Mary’s place. She’s gone up north, has a pool in the back and a frigging FULL liquor cabinet in her basement. Let’s go"
Sean was a little too giddy as he hopped down from the truck, looking over his shoulder to make sure nobody was following them as he walked backward toward the house, waiting for Jefferson to follow.
Jefferson gave himself a second, once he got out, to just lean against the passenger side door and catch his breath. Say what he would about his friend - time with him was never dull. Life-threatening, maybe, but never, never dull.
And what was a little risk every now and again between friends?
With a smile, he fell into step behind Sean, albeit a little less...bouncy. Not that he wasn't excited; Sean was just a nine to his resting six-point-five on the energy scale, and that was just how it was. "Dragging me out of school to get drunk - if I didn't know any better, I'd say you were trying to make a delinquent out of me," he teased as he caught up.
