this certainly wasn’t the first time ash had chosen to find inspiration for art somewhere other than her own room. sure, her best work did come from her mostly quiet room, but she needed out of her house for a while. most of her day currently had just been her doodling in specific locations and seeing which one she seemed to like more. which… had been none of them. outside would’ve been nice if it wasn’t cold and gloomy… and also if there was actually something she could draw other than trees and clouds. then she had tried drawing what she could see through store windows, but people seemed really interested in what she was doing standing by the display and doodling. it worked for a while, so at least she had something to reference for drawing!
it was the worst week for her to forget her camera in her locker. even worse that the drawing she had been trying to piece together was due for the next school day!
somehow, instead of returning home, her little artistic journey had led her to the other artist’s apartment. sure, she was uninvited, but lisa had said that she was welcome any time! so it didn’t really feel like she was intruding; it was more like a second home. plus, it was nice to talk to someone about the internal struggles of drawing. and when it wasn’t boring for anyone, it was calm and quiet too, perfect for focus. speaking of her drawing, it was going along quite well, she was in the middle of shading and putting detailing on. it was always nearer the end of a drawing when her focus began to drift, her pencil now just being twirled around her hair as she was thinking of how to shade the drawing so it’d fit the lighting she wanted to be perceived from the drawing. apparently, that had been interpreted as a signal of boredom, or maybe it was just too quiet…
because the next thing she knew, her ears were hearing the ever unpleasant sound of metal music that was turned up far too much. she didn’t really have a problem with the music type itself, she could bear to listen to it for a little while ( provided the same song didn’t repeat ), but not when it was this loud! pop music wasn’t this loud on that volume! but hey, at least it got her attention to turn to the other, her expression on the line between annoyed and amused. she honestly didn’t know what to think, except from the fact that her ears were beginning to ring.
❛ how are you not deaf already? my ears are already hurting, and we’re not even a minute into this song! ❜
the sad thing is that now her hearing was beginning to become accustomed to this… or was that because she was slightly yelling over the song to make sure she was heard? ❛ i’m blaming you if i get hearing loss by the time i’m twenty. ❜
