I've just finished watching Rings of Power and I'm very much not okay

That being said, it's been two years. If you still spend your time mindlessly hating on this show, you seriously need to re-evaluate your priorities in life.

I've been meaning to say something for a long time because several of my mutuals are, in fact, doing this, but I felt like I had to actually finish watching it myself to be qualified to do that. I stopped watching a few episodes into s1 two years ago because I thought it was boring; but because no fewer than three friends urged me to give it another try recently, I DID. Took me less than two weeks to finish, and I'm usually very bad at watching series.

And let me tell you, as a Tolkien fan who's read far beyond the Silm: yes, it's possible to enjoy it. No, it's not a faithful adaptation. It has many flaws, but also many lovely details, parallels and references. Discarding it simply because of its inadequacy as an adaptation OR because it's an Amazon show means missing out on spending several interesting hours in Middle-earth with a cast of incredible actors.

That being said, I understand not wanting to watch it. I understand being mad about its flaws. I enjoy reading criticism. I wouldn't recommend watching it. But I do not understand why anyone would spend so much of their energy on actively posting anti-ROP stuff. Give it a rest, friends. It's a damn TV show. It's not taking away any of your hcs. Please talk about other things you love - or criticise the actual show, not your idea of it.

Can we please talk about how Adar could have kicked (note- I accidentally wrote "kinked" and debated leaving it. Lol) her butt here?? He wanted this. He practically rolled over and put his head on her shoulder. I will die on this hill. This was just his way of asking her to dinner.
