To the people who say Asa and Anthony aren't the same as Azi and Crowley:
The conclusion of the finale contained a vast of things, including the message that they will find each other in every universe.
As I see it, and this is only my interpretation so do with it what you will, when God created life, the one thing that decided whether something/someone was alive or not depended on whether it/they had a soul. In Christian mythology, according to the Bible, the way God could create us in her image was by giving us souls, binding us together with the Holy Spirit. The same way, while animals have souls, robots don't. Yes?
Okay, so. When someone dies, they get to Heaven or Hell or whatever, depending on how God judges them, etc. etc. That means, our souls are just as immortal and indestructible as God is. The reason why God could watch Crowley and Azi fall in love "over, and over, and over" again, is that their souls are the same with each replay.
And while Crowley and Aziraphale *did* and will always die in every universe once their lives are over, their souls are the same and will live on. In this universe, Asa and Anthony possess the same souls.
Do y'all remember when Anthony recognised a nightingale? And when Asa used silly, old slang (tickety-boo, scrumptious, etc.)?
Do you know that feeling when you so something, tell something to someone just because it *feels right*? But you don't overthink it?
Anthony recognised the nightingale because it was important to Crowley (it's a reference to her and Azi's song). *Love* is a feeling of the soul, that's why it lived in Anthony as well, that's why he watches Asa with the same admiration as he eats, that's why he loves the stars. Asa fiddles with his hands, speaks like Aziraphale, because those small things were part of who he was.
If not our souls, what makes us who we are? Our memories? Robots can store data and keep "memory". Our personalities? It changes based on who influences you. Our looks? Our habits? Our rights and wrongs?
I understand if you were disappointed with the ending but don't you dare say to me that Asa and Anthony are just random people, that they're "nobody important". Thank you for reading this far.
