“that one wasn’t on offer, but i’m truly devastated you’re not interested in it; really.” hayden barks a laugh, dry and sharp, at the not-entirely unexpected audacity. he starts to shrug the jacket off as if he might actually hand it over, only to slip it swiftly back on. “was thinking more something new rather than the one on my back, but it’s fine. i understand the automatically default to secondhand.”

ok so hayden here is your typical young rich asshole archetype. he’s charismatic and friendly most of the time (like,,,when it benefits him) but quite selfish and extremely ambitious to the point where he’ll step on anyone he needs to in order to climb to the top. he comes from old money, he runs a video game company he established himself (i have a page about that), and he’s married (a marriage of convenience so fidelity and love aren’t exactly factors here).

ALSO — among those in the elite circles or who keep track of that sort of thing, it’s pretty well known that he essentially finessed his own family to get his inheritance money and his independence, and get out of taking over his dad’s business. (but there’s no hard feelings or anything. it was just a bit of a scandal at the time that everybody absolutely loved whispering about, and the publicity his parents gained from it was enough to heal all wounds.)

and that’s about it. basically, even if hayden’s a little bit of a douche, he still enjoys having friends and being a normal dude. he’s just,,, A Lot. so yeah if anyone wants to plot, i have a plots page, also his bio and stats are HERE. otherwise feel free to hit me up for plotting in my IMs (i also have discord) !!

yet another opulent, extravagant affair to attend, hosted by the ever-benevolent lim gyuri, a popular newsanchor though best known as the wife of billionaire song hyunjoon remarkably dedicated to her new-found passion for altruism. the event is a lavish dinner party complete with unlimited drinks, an open buffet, held in a reception hall that would’ve cost a fortune even without the exorbitant decor it’d been decked with — jude’s certain the tablecloth in front of him is encrusted with real swarovski crystals. it’s all very ironic, really, given that in a couple of hours they’ll be listening to miss gyuri herself make a great show of exalting the guests that had donated the highest amounts (but not before she’d spend a good ten minutes very modestly praising herself for her own philanthropic enterprises, of course). after all, what was the point of good deeds if there wasn’t a stage and an audience to announce it to?

he’s sat at a table close to the stage with other young entrepreneurs and heirs, some of which he’s quite amicable with and some of which he simply takes a sip of wine while rolling his eyes at every word they attempt to speak toward him. he doesn’t mind the table at all, and he likes to be in this particular spot so that he doesn’t have to walk far, yet all the photographers have plenty of time to get several good shots of him as he walks up to give his speech when he’s inevitably named as one of the top benefactors of the evening. everything is fine, up until he shows up.

jude’s glare is sharp enough to cut glass. everyone at the table looks tense, as if sensing the energy radiating off him the moment bang yujin sits down in the seat jude hadn’t previously noticed bearing a card with his name on it. “they really should learn to tell the difference between a grandfather and his grandson,” he utters in the most seemingly polite and idle tone, looking nowhere in particular as if addressing the whole table, “to avoid such inappropriate seating mishaps.”
