i genuinely think people don’t talk about how sad danganronpa really is. like yeah, class trials and suspense and drama are fun and extreme parts of the story, but these are literal teenagers/young adults being trapped and force to kill each other in order to escape to a destroyed world. we all know the killing game is so messed up, but my god is it just... yikes. Junko is like an evil genius mastermind, but i think people overlook how far into madness she was. causing an apocalypse and taking humanity’s last hope and toying with it because she’s “bored” is something i can’t even find words to describe. a bunch of kids had to kill each other, and in turn get executed in the most extreme ways possible. i’m mostly talking about the first game right now, but like... why don’t i see a bunch of people talking about the more sad stuff??? don’t we literally love angst now???
