Here’s a critique of hazbin hotel’s dialogue that isn’t just “they swear a lot”:

All the characters speak with relatively the same mannerisms and slang the majority of the time despite being from a variety of places and time periods. Except for like, zestial. And that’s only barely

ALISTOR’S CHARACTER DESIGN IS THE FUCKING WORST. THERE I SAID IT. He’s too red and his hair is ugly af without even adding anything to the character. The guy who went to the tailor over a little tear in an already artfully ripped coat would not neglect his hair like that OR wear that much red.

Just a personal thought, but has anyone noticed how everytime someone says "Asexuality is a spectrum(true btw)", they use it more as an excuse to sexualize Ace characters and people, and not give more accurate representation??

Take Alastor from Hazbin Hotel for example; sometimes I stumble upon smut fics of him, and the writer's excuse for erasing him is "Asexuality is a spectrum". Buddy I am an ace person on the spectrum, I STILL do feel sexual urges here and there. But guess what? I'm repulsed by the idea of having sex.

As an Ace person, ever since day one Alastor has CANONICALLY been sex-repulsed. Whether he's capable of sexual feelings is unclear, but it's made VERY CLEAR he does NOT like the idea of having sex.

He can have slight sexual feelings, asexuality is a spectrum after all, but authors make him some kind of sex-obsessed god of lust?? He can't stand even the slightest physical contact from ANYONE, unless he initiates it.

i fear some people are forgetting that alastor is a lying liar who lies and a solid 75% of the shit he says to vox during his evil vizier campaign is not true, or at the very least exaggerated for maximum cruelty, and not an accurate assessment of vox's personality. mostly wrt how basically everything alastor says about vox being weak or a fraud because he relies on others too much is full-blown bullshit—it's a carefully-crafted accusation designed to prey on vox's deepest insecurities, and alastor does not have a point there
