âWell, Iâm glad you liked it.â Hazel said, âHazel Allen.â She introduced, holding out her hand to the other.Â
June smiled bashfully, âSorry, that probably made absolutely no sense to you.â She looked down at the shoes as the girl stood up and then at the rest of her outfit. She smiled again but this time triumphantly, âTheyâre perfect.â
âIt didnât, but itâs okay.â Hazel said, with a small smile as she looked down at the shoes, following the others gaze. âOh, good. I'm glad you like these ones!âÂ
âYouâre funnyâ
âWas it really that funny?
âWell those ones are a navy blue and the ones I just gave you are Egyptian blue which go so much better with what youâre wearing or your skin tone.â She paused, âSorry, Iâm really into clothes. Well, I wanna be a fashion designer one day so each blue is different to me even if they look the same. But the navy is a little darker and lighter colors suit you so the Egyptian works. Also, these ones are wedges and the other ones are espadrilles which is another matter entirely.â
Hazel nodded along slowly, trying to understand the words that were coming out of the others mouth. âRight...â Hazel finally said, still not quite understanding the differences. âDo these look better?â She asked, standing up.
âThey just donât match that top. Like at all.â June turned to the shelf of shoes and picked out another pair, âTry these.â She smiled reassuringly as she held them out to the girl.
âWhatâs the difference between these two pairs of shoes?â Hazel asked, taking the pair of shoes from the other hands, sitting down on the seat available, starting to take them off.
âThose shoes? Really? No, sweetie. Just no.â
âWell, why not?âÂ
âIt really doesnât.â
âWell, why not?âÂ
âVery true. But Iâm happy with the ones I got.â
âShould I be expecting a profile change from you soon?âÂ
âJust a couple. I wasnât about to hoggle him for more, I am not that kind of girl.â
âOh, good. I doubt heâd let you take more if you tried!âÂ
âThatâs usually what people think of all bad ideas.â
âAnd thatâs usually what makes it a great idea.âÂ

Poor guy, Iâm sure he was just trying to get back on a pretty girlâs good side again. Not that I would know - my dates usually go pretty well.
