His gaze kept along, following the other’s movements in attempt to decipher the other’s thoughts. It was strange how well composed of a mask the boy had, nearly showing nothing at all if there was anything to feel. Jean nodded, assuring the young man that the 3D manuever gear was precisely was what he was searching for and it was provided to those mainly a part of the Recon Corps, but the equipment dispersed to the other braches as well to maintain safety within each sector.
"You don’t know what it is?" The question prompted the corners of his lips to turn downwards, forming a small frown. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the gear with him; The Scouting Legion hadn’t planned on venturing outside the walls –– Many of them were assigned to other duties. Just as he was responsible for rounding up supplies, others were responsible for caring for the horses, cooking, cleaning, and aiding the previously injured. "I don’t have it with me –– But I, uh…Would a description help?"
His hand dropped from its resting place on his hip only to outstretch a single finger and direct it at one of the nearby straps. “It gets latched on right around here. It, ah…Has a compartment for blades and gas tanks that propel the soldiers forward. Really, it’s a whole load to carry, but if you’re trained properly for it, it feels like nothing.” What else was he suppose to say?
"It’s –– It’s hard to miss."
He blinked a couple times, eyes almost staring straight through the other with interest and wonder, but with no real expression being displayed upon his features. He raised a hand with only the index finger outstretched, then reached over to his desk, opening a drawer and taking out a sheet of paper and a pen. He started jotting down notes, writing down the details that the man had described to him.
After he had finished writing it all down, he read it over a couple times, then looked up at the man, specifically at the straps that were surrounding the male's figure.
"So, it's just... these large metal contraptions on your sides for blades and gasoline tanks?"
He didn't seem to quite figure out the concept of it, or really what it was for, but he did at least understand what it was in a simplistic way of looking at it. He realized based on the description that the bulkiness and structure of the object would be impossible to mistake for something else. As to whether it was something he'd seen before? Not that he could recall -- but then again, he didn't stalk the warehouse much.
"Alright. Easy enough -- where would it be located? I might be able to find it faster than you can, if it's stored away."
