When I was 12 boys slid their hand up my thigh and slapped my butt. I smiled and took it because I didn’t know it was okay to say stop. I didn’t know that I could say no. So, when the principal calls telling me my daughter is suspended for punching a boy who wouldn’t stop touching her, I will cook her favorite meals. When she tells me how she cursed at the boy who wouldn’t move his hands off her knee even though she asked him to, I will smile and pull out her favorite movie to watch together. I will celebrate the fact that she accepts her body as her own and knows she has the right to say no. I never want my daughter to think her body belongs to men, because it is her own and my god should she be proud. I will teach her it’s more than okay to say stop, something I wish I had known when I was that age.

After taking a ball, Ruth swung and missed at the next two pitches. Mitchell’s fourth pitch to Ruth was a called third strike. This scene is SO important. Maleficent is with someone she trusts, someone she considers a friend. And then the next thing she knows, she wakes up in pain, bleeding, with her wings burned off. A huge part of her has been destroyed.

Rape is so prominent in our culture that it is in a Disney movie. Maybe not explicitly, but it is very clear what this scene represents and it is so sad.

This man is a SERIOUS THREAT. Please fucking be careful, and spread this like wildfire.

This “comedian” harassed a survivor of sexual assault, posting images of rape and tagged her in them on Facebook, as well as accusing her of reporting a photo he had posted on Facebook and telling her he “dreamed about raping” her. He is associated with The Wolf 101.5 radio station through Steve Kearns, an employee of the station.

Kirk Scott is PUBLICLY SAYING that he would rape someone. If he hasn’t committed sexual assault already, he is an imminent threat to do so. Please please please reblog this and spread the word. Peterborough media outlets refuse to report on the story, and the police have done NOTHING. The police have even publicly shaken hands with Kirk Scott at events, and refuse to help the victims of his violent harassment.
