Japanese surf photographer Tatsuo Takei spends several months a year in California shooting surfing and surf culture up and down the coast. He’s putting all his work from the past ten years into a book of what I think will be the best surf photography book published since the 70’s. The book will be featuring Joel Tudor, Tyler Warren, Tyler Hatzikian and many more talented longboarders as well as other stylish surfers riding various forms of surfcraft. Tatsuo’s understanding of style, movement and composition is apparent in his film photography. This image is of Tatsuo, his van, and his homebreak here- Cardiff Reef.
