Collegebound, Chapter 36: Yuri's Revenge

The four Yuus gathered around the TV, ready to watch the DVD of Yuya’s drama class skits. But before they could get started, there was a knock at the door. Yuto frowned, “I swear, if it’s those boys who ate all the macaroons coming to eat all our popcorn, I’m not going to be happy.”

Yuya opened the door and saw a different boy standing there. “Hey, is Yuri here?” the boy asked.

“Oh, hey, it’s the guy from across the hall from my dorm!” Yuri said. The boy nodded, “Yeah, hey Yuri. Uhm, Eren is asking for you.”

“Yuri’s roommate from hell?” Yugo recalled. The boy nodded, “Yeah, he wants Yuri to open the dorm so he can get his key.”

“Nah, I don’t feel like it,” Yuri replied. “Tell him to go to the office if he wants in the dorm.”

“I figured you’d say that,” the boy said. “Well, I’ll let him know then.”

The boy left, and Yuya closed the door. “Your roommate’s gonna be mad when he can’t find his key,” he said. Yuri grinned, “Let him be mad! I don’t care! He can’t prove anything! Revenge is mine!”

“Well, now that that’s settled, let’s watch the DVD,” Yuto said.

Fated, Chapter 18: Anchovies

Yuya was feeling a lot better than he’d felt since his fight with Yuzu. It was actually quite nice spending time with Mieru.

Yoko smiled as she watched Yuya and Mieru making mini pizzas. “Would you like to stay for dinner?” she asked Mieru. The fortune teller lit up excitedly, “I’d love to! Dinner with my darling Yuya will be so nice!”

Yuya smiled, offering Mieru some pizza dough. “What’s your favorite pizza?” he asked. Mieru smiled, “The kind with all the toppings!”

“That’s my favorite kind of pizza too!” Yuya said in delight. “I like everything on my pizza!”

“Even anchovies?” Yuri asked. Yuya flushed slightly, “Sometimes. I have to be in the mood for anchovies though.”

Mieru watched Yuya communicating with his counterparts with a smile. It didn’t even feel strange to her. As Yuya opened his eyes he smiled at Mieru apologetically. “Yuri wants to know if you like anchovies on pizza.”

Mieru got a little flustered, “Well, I know it’s weird, but sometimes I like anchovies on it.”

“Me too!” Yuya said excitedly. Mieru grinned at him, “Oh good! Everyone else who knows judges me for it.”

“Well, I won’t judge you,” Yuya promised.

All's Fair in Love and War, Chapter 18: Phantom Duels

After dinner Reiji put on a movie for his sleepover guests. He’d picked out one he knew Yuya loved called Phantom Duels. As soon as he saw the disc, Yuya lit up, “I love that movie!”

“I know, it’s one of your favorites,” Reiji said. “I’ve got the whole series in a box set.”

“Oh, that’s pretty cool!” Yuya said. “Did you see the marathon that the movie theater had when the last Phantom Duels movie came out?”

“I didn’t,” Reiji said, “I was busy that day. Though I’m sure you did.”

“Yeah, the theater gave out all kinds of limited edition stuff to everyone who came to watch it,” Yuya said sitting down on the couch. Shun sat down next to him, “I’ve never seen any of the movies.”

Yuya gasped, turning his attention to Shun, “You’ve never seen any of the Phantom Duels movies?! You poor thing! We need to fix that immediately!”

Reiji glared at Shun from behind his glasses. He saw what Shun was doing, taking Yuya’s attention. Game on.

Snugglebugs, Chapter 21: Peaceful

Yuri returned to the room after his morning run to find Yuto looking out the window at the sunrise. A soft smile was on the eggplant’s face. Yuya and Yugo were still asleep. Everything was so peaceful.

Yuri smiled, watching his counterparts for a few minutes. After some time, Yuto spoke quietly, “Are you going to keep watching us?”

“No,” Yuri replied. “It’s just nice to have all of us together without a war going on.”

Yuto nodded in agreement, looking at Yuri, “It really is. Now go take a shower, you’re all sweaty from your run.”

Yuri chuckled, “Alright, alright, I’ll be right back.”

Serendipity, Chapter 28: Zarc's Skepticism

Zarc rolled his eyes hearing his soon-to-be-ex-wife’s claim. “No, you are not pregnant,” he said. “You’re just saying that to make me take you back.”

“No, Zarc, I’m actually pregnant!” Kairi said angrily. “And I don’t know which of you are the father.”

Zarc frowned. “I won’t believe you until a pregnancy test is done,” he said. Kairi replied, “I just did one, how do you think I know I’m pregnant?”

“I still think you’re lying, why do you think I want you to take a pregnancy test where I can verify it?” Zarc pointed out. By now all the Yuus were listening to him talk to Kairi.

“I’ll send you a photo of the test!” Kairi said. Zarc rolled his eyes again. “And I suppose I’m supposed to just believe you when you say it’s your pregnancy test, not a photo you found online or someone else’s test you took from the trash?”

“Ugh, fine, I’ll bring the test to you,” Kairi said in annoyance. Zarc replied, “No, you’ll bring a brand new, never been opened, still sealed in its box pregnancy test and take it at my house in my presence, to prove that you aren’t faking it.”

“Why won’t you just listen to me?” Kairi whined.

“I mean, you DID have an affair with four different people and lie about it to all five of us,” Zarc pointed out. “Bring the unopened pregnancy test to my house at 6PM this evening.”

Love Always Finds a Way, Chapter 17: A Bouquet for the Parents

Sunday seemed to take forever to arrive, and both Yuya and Yuri were eagerly waiting. Yuya in particular was excited to reintroduce Yuri to his parents.

Yuri, meanwhile, was preparing a gift for Yuya’s parents. He had a garden full of beautiful flowers, and on Sunday afternoon he picked some to make into a bouquet. Yuya smiled when he saw the bouquet.

“They’re lovely,” the tomato-head said. “My parents will love them! Especially my mom.”

“Your mother always did like me,” Yuri mused. “Your father, not so much.”

“Yeah, but he came around eventually,” Yuya replied. “He knows how much I’ve missed you.”

Yuri smiled, finishing off the bouquet with a red ribbon. “Well let’s not delay any longer then!”

Soulmates, Chapter 28: Full Moon

Yusho brought a cup of sleep tea to the Yuus’ room, and found Yuto looking out the window at the moon. It was a full moon that night, which Yuri had mentioned before the Yuus went to bed.

“Here you go, Yuto,” Yusho said, setting the cup of tea on the headboard of the bed. Yuto nodded, “Thank you.”

“Full moon tonight,” Yusho noted, glancing out the window. “Probably doesn’t help your insomnia.”

Yuri stirred, and mumbled, “Or the werewolves.”

“Shush, Yuri,” Yuto said, “Go back to sleep.”

“Werewolves,” Yuri mumbled again, before falling back to sleep. Yusho chuckled, “Go ahead and drink your tea and try to get some sleep. We’ve got a busy day tomorrow.”

“Alright,” Yuto said, picking up the teacup and taking a sip. The tea was quite nice. Perhaps he would be able to get some sleep tonight after all.

Ethereal Embrace, Chapter 24: A Good Day for a Picnic

The demon king and his precious Yuus made their way to Yuri’s gardens for their picnic. Yuya had to admit that Yuri’s castle was even more impressive up close, “Your castle is beautiful, Yuri!”

Yuri beamed. “Why thank you, my dear Yuya!~” he said. “I find it beautiful as well.”

“It’s a good place to have a picnic too!” Yugo said. “Probably the best castle for one.”

“Indeed!” Yuri agreed, “And we can pick some fruits after we’ve eaten”

“Mm, fruit is so good!” Yuya said. His stomach growled, and Zarc smiled, “Well, let’s go ahead and get the picnic set up!”

The five of them arranged the picnic blanket on the grass under one of Yuri’s fruit trees, and Yuto began passing out sandwiches and sides. Yugo licked his lips hungrily before digging in. “Mm, this is a good day for a picnic!”

Hearts' Entertainment, Chapter 28: Interesting

Dennis, meanwhile, was mildly amused that someone thought they could steal Yuya from him. He knew very well that Yuya’s dance partner was no threat, though clearly she thought she had a chance with Yuya.

“What I find interesting is that she seemed to only take an interest in Yuya when she realized he was already taken,” the redhead said to Sora, who was visiting. Sora raised an eyebrow, “Are you going to do anything about it?”

“Not unless Yuya wants me to,” Dennis said. “He wants to deal with it himself, and I’m sure he knows what he’s doing.”

Sora popped a lollipop in his mouth. “Well this should be interesting!”

Secret Love, Chapter 22: A Surprise

Yuri was a bit distracted that day, imagining Dennis in a ballgown. The masquerade ball would be in two days, which meant that Yuri had plenty of time to imagine what Dennis would look like.

Dennis went out for a few hours, returning with a look of satisfaction. Yuri waited for his butler to bring him his tea in his study before asking, “Did you find one?”

“I did!” Dennis replied, knowing exactly what the cabbage-head was talking about. Yuri asked, “What does it look like?”

“It’s a surprise!” Dennis said, knowing very well that he was the only person in the manor that could deflect the marquess’s question. Yuri pouted but accepted the response and his tea. “I must admit, I’m almost looking forward to this ball!”

Two Golden Rings, Chapter 22: Razzleberry Pie

Yuya made good use of his new mansion-based GPS, and Yuri found him later that afternoon in the upstairs kitchen. He was hard at work baking a pie.

“What kind of pie are you making?” Yuri asked, wrapping his arms around his lovely fiance. Yuya smiled, “Razzleberry!”

Yuri blinked, then pouted. “I don’t think that’s a real berry, Yuya,” he said. “And I pride myself in being an expert in plants!”

Yuya giggled. “Razzleberry pie is a pie made with raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries,” he explained. Yuri grinned, “Ah, I see! It does sound fun! Just like you!~”

Yuya smiled, “I wanted to bake something to thank you for everything you’ve done for me.” Yuri kissed the back of his tomato fluff, “Well, I always appreciate a good pie!”

Stolen Hearts, Chapter 34: Good Morning Texts

Shingo was really looking forward to his party, and the three days seemed to pass slower than molasses in January. But finally the big day arrived. Shingo woke up more excited than ever, and it showed in his energy. He texted Yuya as soon as he woke up, eager to chat with his boyfriend.

Shingo: Good morning, Yuya!

Yuya: Morning Shingo! Looking forward to the party!

Shingo: Me too! I can’t wait to show you off to all the guests!

Yuya: Aww, that’s sweet! What time does the party start?

Shingo: Two o’clock! Don’t be late!

Yuya: I won’t be! I’ll see you there! Love you!

Shingo: Love you too!

Shingo looked out the window at the rising sun. Today was going to be a great day!

Bonds of the Soul, Chapter 40: Christmas Tradition

As the boys relaxed by the fire, Yuya’s duel disc suddenly buzzed. Yuya immediately sat up and grabbed it, eagerly checking his messages. “Yes! It’s on!”

“What’s on?” Yugo asked curiously. Yuya grinned. “Oh, every Christmas Yuzu and I have a snowball fight, and this year we wanted to invite you guys, the girls, and all the Lancers!”

Yugo gasped, scrambling up off the sofa. “Well what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”

“Hold on, Yugo!” Yuya giggled. “We gotta dress up warmly before we go!”

“Not gonna lie, a snowball fight sounds like a lot of fun!” Yuto said with a smile. “It’ll be nice to have a harmless play battle with no risk!”

“I’ve… never been in a snowball fight before…” Yuri admitted. Yuto, Yugo, and Yuya immediately hugged him. “It’s gonna be so much fun, Yuri! Don’t worry!” Yuya promised.

“Well, let’s go ahead and get dressed for battle!” Yugo said with a grin.

Roommates, Chapter 22: Curry

Later that evening, Yuto was in the kitchen making Yuri’s requested curry dinner. The whole apartment was filled with the smell of the curry spices. Core didn’t seem to appreciate the aroma of the spices, and was hiding in Yuya’s room under the blankets with his paws over his nose.

Yuri came into the kitchen to inspect the curry Yuto was preparing. “Smells pretty good!” he said in approval.

Yuto offered him a spoon to taste test the curry. The cabbage-head hummed at the flavor, “Tastes pretty good too!”

“Good, because it’s ready to eat,” Yuto said.

The Prince and the Peasant, Chapter 30: A Spooky Sound

Yugo was very tired by the time the bath was over, and he was eager to get some sleep. Yuri also seemed ready to sleep, and the two boys snuggled together in Yuri’s bed. Yugo yawned, then Yuri yawned.

“Don’t yawn,” Yuri said. “Cuz then I’ll yawn too.”

“Okay,” Yugo closed his eyes and snuggled deeper under the covers. All was quiet for a few moments. Then, there was a spooky sound outside. Yugo’s eyes snapped back open, “What was that?”

“An owl,” Yuri replied. “You’ve never heard one before, have you?”

Yugo shook his head, “It sounds spooky!” Yuri grinned at him, hugging him, “Don’t worry, the owl won’t hurt you! They only hunt mice.”

Yugo tried to stifle another yawn, but failed spectacularly. Yuri pouted, then yawned again. “Time to sleep.”

Coddled Tomatoes, Chapter 27: Sneaking In

Yugo got home in record time despite not being on his D-Wheel. When he arrived home, he noticed Yoko in the kitchen making soup. She would no doubt notice if he came in through the front door, and would most certainly lecture him about playing hooky from school.

So Yugo decided to try sneaking in through the bedroom window. Which would be a bit of a challenge, given that he wasn’t nearly as agile and stealthy as his counterparts. No doubt Yuya would be able to get in without making a sound.

But Yugo never gave up on anything just because it was challenging. In fact, he thrived on challenging activities! He would get into the bedroom!

Yugo clumsily clambered up the tree near the bedroom window, crawling along the branch. He could see Yuya sleeping in bed through the open window. Now for the tricky part: getting inside without falling on top of Yuya.

He did his best to maneuver onto the headboard of Yuya’s bed, wobbling a bit. Pausing for a few moments to regain his balance, he then carefully sat down on the headboard and took his shoes off before setting his feet on the floor. Success! Now he could take care of his precious sick tomato.

Hearts of Shadow, Chapter 32: A Successful Festival

The festival truly was a smashing success, and Yuya couldn’t’ve been happier about it. He’d enjoyed every moment, every event, and every gift. And he’d been accompanied by his brothers or their shadow creatures at all times.

“Did you enjoy your festival?” Zarc asked just before dawn on the fourth day. Yuya nodded excitedly. “Yeah, it was so much fun! I loved it!”

“Good!” Zarc beamed. “I’m glad you had fun! It was your special welcome back to the family!”

“I couldn’t’ve asked for a better one!” Yuya said, smiling at Zarc. The older vampire ruffled his tomato fluff. “And remember, it’s an annual celebration. Every year we’ll have a three day festival to celebrate the anniversary of your return to us!”

Yuya smiled, then yawned. It was almost time for him to sleep and recover another day of memories from his past life, and he could already feel the tell-tale signs coming on. Zarc smiled at him. “C’mon, let me escort you back to your chambers. I’ll give you a piggy-back ride!”

Yuya lit up excitedly. He loved piggy-back rides! He let Zarc pick him up on his back and carry him through the castle to his chambers. This was a nice end to his festival, and he couldn’t wait to see what else his new life as a vampire prince had to offer.
