What freaks me out and turns/turned me off from Christianity is how much fearmongering is done.

You can't force people to believe and feel what you feel especially when you use eternal damnation as a means.

I never felt welcomed in any church much long after joining, I would read the Bible and cry because I couldn't remember most of what I read or felt the verse was saying I'm gonna go to hell (like so many belief systems say about a lot of us).

I do pray. It doesn't mean I'm aligned with the same beliefs BUT it doesn't mean I don't believe in (a) god(dess).

I just haven't discovered or had full cognizance of who is completely keeping me here.

Nevertheless, I do pray and say thank you.

I ask that my son is protected.

I ask that my loved ones are protected.

I used to get on my knees and beg for forgiveness for being HUMAN.

I would plead to be fixed because of suicidal thoughts and self harm.

I would plead that I'd find my place in this world.

I would go to church and do my best to not be such a sinner.

Heaven AND Hell scared me.

Maybe they both still do.

All I know is, the idea that one day a rapture MAY happen and no matter what, I'm probably gonna burn for eternity because I was never good enough by so many religious groups standards.

So...am I just not good enough dead or alive???

Lighting a candle and sending prayers of protection for all my friends in Richmond today. Please stay home, stay safe, and don’t put yourself at risk.

Our thoughts are also with the brave students who came in last night and slept inside the Capitol building to avoid the mob outside threatening to shoot them if they showed up to speak to the state legislature about gun safety today.

Nothing before the legislation on this day involves taking anyone’s guns. The changes being proposed involve public safety (no more bump stocks, businesses and govt buildings having the right to ban firearms from the premises) and additional safeguards on the sale and purchase of firearms (red flag laws, stricter background checks, one-a-month purchase limits). None of this involves search and seizure. It’s not even limiting what types of guns or ammo people can buy (although I personally think that’s a good next step).

These laws do not affect responsible, law-abiding gun owners. The militias coming to town for this demonstration are neither responsible nor law-abiding, as evidenced by the numerous threats of violence toward both lawmakers and civilians we’ve seen popping up on Facebook and Twitter.

Friendly reminder that if your political position, or your “opinion,” involves threatening to shoot school children for asserting that they have the right to live to see graduation without being killed inside their classrooms, YOU ARE NOT IN THE RIGHT.
