Tfw your whole body suddenly trades one flavor of dissociation for another - and for no discernable reason whatsoever - so it's reasonable to conclude (after the 9 millionth time this has happened) that you're simply being fucked with, and it's probably just nerve angels or some shit. 🤷♀️
These photographs, taken in 1935, show a group of Mexican men arrested because they were gay and detained inside Lecumberri Prison.
Known as the “Black Palace”, Lecumberri prison was infamous for overcrowding, violence and harsh conditions.
Gay prisoners were confined to Ward J nicknamed ‘Joto’ - a homophobic slur for gay men that is still used in Mexico today.
Despite being imprisoned, many of the men refused to hide. They posed confidently for the camera, smiled, flirted and looked directly into the lens, leaving behind a rare visual record of queer life during a time of persecution.
Their names and what happened to them afterwards were never documented.
Today, these photographs are preserved by Mexico’s National Photo Library at the National Institute of Anthropology and History.

It's a nonsense argument.
Every single word that we have ever used was also used to hurt us.
"Gay" is still used derogatorily right now.
The word "homosexual" has the biggest death count of them all, and nobody protests it. The term was created to medicalize and pathologize gay existence.
Homosexuals were institutionalized, drugged, experimented on, lobotomized, tortured in medical settings, "converted" - all explicitly as "homosexuals" - a term that men of power invented entirely to justify doing this.
So, no. "Queer is a slur" is a bad argument.
You are totally allowed to not use the word 'queer' to describe yourself, but you don't get to further marginalize huge portions of our community, and pretend to be on our side while doing it.

"Y’all… a resort in Bali is reportedly suing a guest for $100,000 after he allegedly kicked an elderly monkey that was sitting outside the property minding its business.
And according to reports, less than an hour later, the monkey’s entire troop pulled up and chose violence.
We’re talking monkeys storming the lobby, raiding the fruit displays, climbing over the front desk, terrorizing guests, and essentially occupying parts of the resort for days.

My mom likes to tell me about how when I was a little kid riding public transport with her I'd always smile and giggle and chat with weird old ladies who smelled like cat pee and homeless folks and strangers dressed in bizarre outfits but any time a tidy and respectable businessman in a suit and tie waved at me I'd immediately clam up, and she takes a great deal of pride in my supposed inherentability to clock personalities but the truth is I do vaguely remember those bus rides, and it was never about the clothes or the hair or the smell, but more because everyone "strange" asked interesting questions and listened to what I had to say and seemed to think about what I said while the neat and tidy and rigid folks only ever acted like they were going through the motions, which was boring as hell and also pretty annoying
