i lowkey really enjoy the plot of “oh you think im evil? let me show you evil” and just continues to be the worst person ever than before. like sometimes its just soo good. started watching word of honor and firstly i like their dynamic of like stoic, laid back, idgaf attitude with the kind of teasing, vague background and motive, really just there to have some fun behavior. just when zhou xu told wen kexing that he was insane and stupid, kexing turned around and started wreaking more trouble. and the way that kexing shows so much concernnnn for xu and yet we are reminded that demons dont have human emotions like grief and fear and whatnot. so whyyyy is it like this, kexing is more visually concerned about xu’s well being than towards anyone else, and xu is equally concerned about him, but hes human so that makes sense. if kexing is a demonnn thennnn, all these emotions girl

waitttt cuz zhou xu being directly contradictory about the things he said in the past. saying blood disgusts him and having a physical repulsion to blood getting on his sleeve, to wiping the blood off of wen kexings chin. and him denying kexings claims of “human nature is greedy” then directly telling shen shen that human nature is evil and that he expects nothing more from him as well. i see how subconsciously he begins to care less about his own previous grounds and how he is also developing similar ideas to kexing, the same vice versa.

I really really wish there was a full comic of a Diaries rewrite but that would probably take a couple millennia to actually do.

im thinking about how lan zhan is learning so earnestly how to play this guqin, learning new songs that will spiritually cleanse wei wuxian because everyone believes hes in possession of a yin iron, or something similar to it that will corrupt his soul and mind, and yet wei wuxian is so adamant about his own mental stability, that his amulet isnt like that of the yin iron and that he is in charge of his own mind; he declines lan zhans attempts to listen to his playing. they are both firm in their beliefs and intentions. lan zhan has his worries, whether the amulet is like the yin iron or not, he fears that the pressure of it will affect wei wuxians mind and body, and he will collapse. and wei wuxian takes this as lan zhan thinking like all of the rest. he thinks lan zhan doubts his capabilities and doesnt understand what the stygian tiger amulet is, and asks lan zhan if he thinks he is like ren ruohan who was controlled by the yin iron. he becomes offended when lan zhan wants him to listen to absterge. when lan zhans gaze drifts in this scene, i cant tell if its because wei wuxians assumption about him thinking the stygian tiger amulent is bad for him is true, or if its that wei wuxian interpreted his intentions wrong. it just seems that lan zhan has pure intentions and worries for wei wuxian, and yet wei wuxian misinterprets him based on how the others treat him. especially after zewu jun visited him and also told him about “there are set rules in this world, and goodness is with regulations,” even more expressing this “good and bad” mentality that wei wuxian dislikes hearing about…

this untamed episode 27… jiang cheng came for wei wuxian in qiongqi way for the stygian tiger amulet, and yet… when wei wuxian sees him.. instead of thinking hes an enemy in his territory after directly defying all of the other clans and murdering a ton of Jin clan members, causing issues since he got back from half the depths of hell, he greets him like he usually would, with a playful airiness, like a long time friend, a brother. ohh lord…

im not into the new aphmau content but lordddd i just went to check it out… no hate to this voice actor but it just… it doesnt fit, like this intense effort in creating a soothing, like gentle attractive voice, ah its not working. its like, what was previously just the nature, playful intonation, of laurances voice, now seems to be forced out in seduction(?). its also like theres a new director who has flipped through 800 pages of script in 2 hours and claims they understand the characters well, meanwhile they only picked and chose certain details to define the character incorrectly. (but also who am i to complain because all around in every series is he introduced as “casanova” and known to be a ladies man so whatever about it).

and the green, certainly is not working at all either. its too bright! even the darker green on him is too bright, and the light green is also too bright. although i get that “laurances color is green, aarons color is red, garroths color is blue” like this, buttttt… this green is not laurances green please… a nostalgic navy blue coat would have worked better 100%

i pause my drama at the climax of the conversation, where the main lead is finally told that shes not who shes been for the last several months, acting as a different person out of her own accord because she has a grave condition of amnesia. but shes finally told. and right before i paused it, she was in the middle of her breakdown saying “im not her? i didnt do all those terrible things? i have to tell everyone!” and she drifts off… ive been thinking about it all day… she will either rejoice in this, and then she will slump down and say “but who will believe it, my life is ruined, etc etc.” or, she will say, in my utter dissatisfaction, “when did you know this?” and lo and behold, she said exactly that. ahhhh why do they always say this… and then they turn on the one who was helping them. its not that they were hiding it from you, its that they needed solid proof. im sure she wouldnt have wanted to been told “you are not who you think you are” to ask “then who am i?” and receive “i dont know.” thats distressing!!!
