It had been dark for some time now, but Combeferre is only dimly aware of that. He probably looks a mess; his hair had grown out past his ears, curling ever so slightly. And he couldn’t be bothered with pushing it out of his face, so he had tied it back in a small ponytail. He was sure there were circles under his eyes, and one of the two coffees he was carrying was his lifeblood at this point.
He skips a couple of steps as he strides up the stairs, smoothly raising his arms with the drinks as someone ducks under them, and he’s back into the lobby of the dorm building, and he feels a slow smile come over his face.
“Ah, mon ami,”
He sounds more cheery than he feels as he slips himself onto the couch next to his friend. “Caffeine call,” he offered the other drink to Courfeyrac, and his eyes slip shut.
“--So.” He manages to straighten up, and he rubs his hands together, pursing his lips. “I have nine hours until my next class. If I study for six hours, and sleep for three, that’s two sleep cycles. Totally doable, yes?”a
I forgot to mention and I don’t have his bio up yet ; but I kinda like the idea of Ferre as a zoologist. He got most of the wait through med school -- about to start his internship, when he decides he’s just really fascinated with the human body, he doesn’t actually want to work on them. But he likes animals so. he goes back for zoology.

It was the most curious thing. He’s been documenting the phenomenon for years, once he started noticing the pattern. Now, Aarav Combeferre was a medical man ( was being the key word), but there was nothing in biology he could find that explained what was happening.
TWO days; every year, on the same date for as long as he could remember. It was like a phantom pain, a dull throb in three places along his chest. Always the same place. When he was younger, he used to ask his parents, but nothing was ever deemed wrong. It was only something he was dimly aware of now, just a slight pulse, but it stayed at the back of his mind.
He’s on the streets of Paris today, hair slicked back into a tie to keep it off his face, and it just barely caught his eye. If he hadn’t turned his head at that exact moment, he would’ve missed the glimpse of art spattered onto the walls. And as he steps closer, the young man is frozen into place, eyeing the painting.
Something about it hits HOME. Combeferre had never been particularly into art; he appreciated the classics, but he was terrible at analysis. The revolutionary scene in front of him was HAUNTING, however. And he can’t move. He’s staring at faces ; faces of young men who are so serious, ready to fight for their cause.
