and even when apart, he caught and he pitched. it was a revolving door in which their lives revolved around it just the same. but never would the two unite, always traveling alongside one another on parallel paths -- never to connect.  [art , promo cred.]

       “Miyuki’s twisted personality is showing itself again…” He didn’t really mind the comment all too much, however. If he knew a way to catch his own pitches, there would be no chance of getting him to stop. It was for the better, really.

       “Please catch my pitches a little while longer,” though, he knew well enough that there wasn’t much he could do to convince Miyuki. And if it was deemed an impossible cause this time, he would take to building up his stamina until he felt ready to retire for the night.

               ❝ Insatiable... ❞ On some nights, it was exhausting... downright unbelievable how relentless the pitcher was. But on others, nights like these, Miyuki couldn’t help but be amazed by Furuya’s determination. He’d never say as much aloud but to the few that knew him well, it was readable on his face. 

               ❝ Twenty minutes, tops. Then we’re both going to cool down and pack it up for the night. ❞ Holding both titles of captain and catcher came with its advantages in moments like these. He was sure he’d never tire of bossing his underclassman around.

     Brown eyes roamed around the library as he looked for an excuse– any excuse, to get him to finally take a break from the endless readings he had been assigned. In a quick flash, they landed on the second-year catcher, whom he quickly waved to come closer. Without a single pause, as soon as Miyuki was close enough, he said,

     “Get me some juice.”

               Miyuki had only planned to be in and out -- ten minutes tops as he grabbed the book he needed and headed back to his room. But when his upperclassman beckoned him, he knew there would be hell to pay if he ignored the call. So with a light sigh he closed the distance between them. His shoulders slumped in response to the request. 

                            ❝ ---- Juice...? Alright... what kind? ❞

it was that pretty boy catcher. why was he here? was he here to WATCH them or something? either way, he had something he was obligated to do– well, according to RAIZOU he did. which was dumb. ’ o.. oi, do you.. NEED something ? ’

               Miyuki looked from left to right, then back behind himself as if he was unsure exactly who this kid was talking to. ❝ Need? From you? Nothing that I can think of at the moment. But thanks! You know, for the offer. ❞ Though he knew that wasn’t quite what this was.

         He could feel fatigue weighing his body, there was no doubt about it. However, he had no hope of keeping his position if he didn’t push himself. Besides, he dozed off any chance he got so he didn’t think it would be a problem catching up on rest later. ( Though, it was not advisable to rest during classes. )

        “I want to practice some more.”

               ❝ Hah! ❞ Miyuki stood from the crouched position he’d adopted to catch Furuya’s pitches and pressed his knuckles into the palm of his mitt. ❝ I should’ve known you’d say something like that. Still, how do you plan on continuing on by yourself? If you’re going to throw and catch your own pitches, I’d like to stick around and watch you try. I could use a good laugh. ❞

     Turning back, he looks around to assure that Kazuya’s annoying uncle isn’t paying attention before leaning in close. He grins, wrapping his arms around Miyuki’s bicep before whispering.

          ❛ Prends-moi par derrière. ❜

               The catcher’s brows furrow slightly at the words spoken in a foreign tongue. He goes over each of them in his mind, slowly translating the sentence, the color draining from his face as he does so. 

                         ❝ M-Mei-chan... ❞

               He supposes that he should have warned his boyfriend about the multilingual chef ahead of time...
