In celebrations of Broadway’s 32nd anniversary (WOOOOT), here’s a throwback to previous anniversaries at The Majestic Theatre. Highlights:
5th anniversary (1993): In the lead roles: Mark Jacoby, Karen Culliver (Luann Aronson), Hugh Panaro
10th anniversary (1998): After-party with cast and crew. In the lead roles: Thomas James O’Leary, Tracy Shayne (Adrienne McEwan), Gary Mauer.
17th anniversary (2005): This was largely a private event for cast and crew, at Restaurant Azalea, and of course with the mandatory cake. In the lead roles: Hugh Panaro, Sandra Joseph (Julie Hanson) and John Cudia
20th anniversary (2008): New poster design with odd model Phantom in mist. Even the Phantom seemed confused over that choice… Cast and crew celebrated at the Dream Hotel in NYC, with champagne and the madatory cake. In the lead roles: Howard McGillin, Jennifer Hope Wills and Tim Martin Gleason
21th anniversary (2009): All the “legal at last” jokes… Hitting 8,732 performances, and just prior a new sound design technology had been installed. A cake was presented on stage, and the actual celebrations for cast and crew also took place on stage. In the lead roles: Howard McGillin, Marni Raab (Elizabeth Loyacano) and Tim Martin Gleason.
22nd anniversary (2010): A cake was presented on stage. In the lead roles: John Cudia, Jennifer Hope Wills (Marni Raab) and Ryan Silverman.

27th anniversary (2015): Norm Lewis, Broadway’s first (and so far only African-American Phantom, extended his run to participate in the 27th anniversary. A blizard postponed the celebrations. In the lead roles: Norm Lewis, Julia Udine (Kaley Ann Voorhees, Jeremy Hays.
29th anniversary (2017): Finally a new staircase publicity photo from the anniversary, in the vein of the first anniversary ones. Other than that, this celebration seemed to be kept low-key, saving the razzle-dazzle for the upcoming 30th anniversary the year after. In the lead roles: James Barbour, Ali Ewoldt (Kaley Ann Voorhees) and Kyle Barisich.
30th anniversary (2018): Honoring Hal Prince. Lightshow at Empire State Building. Live broadcasting in social media. Mask exhibition with reimagined Phantom masks. Sarah Brightman appeared on stage, and costumes was also put on display at the Pierre Hotel (Red Death, Wishing) and at BroadwayCon (Masquerade trio). In the lead roles: Peter Jöback, Ali Ewoldt (Kaley Ann Voorhees) and Rodney Ingram.
