Day 4. Peter Karrie

Following Martin Smith and returning Dave Willets was Peter Karrie, who up to then had been an understudy for both.

After overcoming initial problems with connecting to the role, Peter became a very popular Phantom. Known for his expressive body language and hand gestures and originating the “fathering gaze” lyric change in “Wandering Child” which is now often favoured by Phantom actors.

Karrie went on to star in multiple Phantom productions.
