this is excellent analysis, hope you don’t mind me adding that the structure of the society within the walls, which the protagonists of attack on titan are trying to protect, is very much analogous to the ideas of nazi political ideologue carl schmitt. this video goes into some detail about it:

there’s plausible deniability of isayama’s far-right ethnonationalist politics until the eldians come in, but after that…if you go back and think about the story, the whole thing is just like. germans (and exactly two japanese people) crusading against a dehumanized Other for lebensraum. there is nothing left of the story when you strip away the nazi ideology, it’s at the core of the series
