rewatching the ocean's trilogy atm as i am wont to do when im going thru it and a lil detail i LOVE is how the group learns chinese for yen and it's all completely in the background. in ocean's 11 only rusty can understand him, in ocean's 12 they mostly still need yen to speak slowly but do understand him, and at the end they're actively conversing with him in chinese. i LOVE it. soderbergh king of subtle character writing
