When I was younger I remember dreaming about what my 20's would be like. I had a fairy tale built in my mind of who I would marry, my future kids, my dream car and job. It's safe to say that most of those things never happened the way I imagined they would. As I have gotten older and now that I have a daughter of my own I see that we as women have to be a little bit more open-minded about things and what we expect from our children. We can't expect for them to be perfect or to have it all figured out in their 20's. It's not impossible but it's also really hard to make such tough decisions for your life when you're just starting to live. It's ok to change your college major until you love it, it's ok to leave dead end jobs, it's ok to go out during the week and to sleep late on Sundays. It's perfectly ok to not have it all together in your 20's, this is the time to fall and pick yourself back up. This is when you start to learn who you really are and what you want for yourself. So many people call them your selfish years because that's what they should be, be selfish with your time, with your ideas and with your dreams. Don't let your grandma tell you otherwise. Keep in mind that by the time 30 comes around you should start to work harder on your career and your future and everything else usually starts to fall into place. Don't rush yourself, give yourself time to grow and learn and the road for your future will become clear with time. We promise.
